I've been seeing a lot of ads lately for testosterone replacement and it has got me wondering what influence testosterone might play on cross dressing. I'm pretty sure it has some kind of influence since I, like many people here, was much more sexually stimulated by crossdressing when I was in my twenties and, presumably, had a higher testosterone level than I do now (late 50's). I never felt like I was burdened with an over-abundance of testosterone, but,, even at that, testosterone is bound to decrease with age, no matter what its former level may have been.
So the question is: Has anybody on the forum tried any of the new testosterone supplements? if so, has it had any effect on your cross dressing?

p.s I can't stand that these commercials call it "Low T," as though the word "Testosterone" is just too gosh darned hard to say.

My T levels last year were of an average 30 year old and I am 59 because I have been wanting to dress more the last few years I thought my T levels would have been low. So I don't think it has much to do with wanting to dress. I think I am dressing more because I have the time now.

well I think (little logical engineer brain) but I'd say low T would make you not want to crossdressing like my experience..... I had a slow growing tumor that produced the female hormone Prolactin which did make my breasts larger but totally trashed my T levels..... sex drive went away and I lost interest in crossdressing..... for almost 10 years..... once I started treatment my T levels shot up and my crossdressing came back with a vengeance! boom!

I would have to say logically having a normal testosterone level would promote anything sexual, including CDing if that is what your purpose in CDing is.

I have had low testosterone forever. It is not just low, but below the normal scale. I just turned 66, my 'need' to dress is increasing and my sex life with my wife is better than ever.

Go figger!

A member of the same social group I am in discovered that he had low T levels, and upon T replacement treatment found that he just lost interest.

For myself, one interpretation that could be given to my medical history is that I lost interest in cross-dressing when my T levels went lower. Now, instead of cross-dressing, I dress appropriately for my female identity.

I was told I have low T. I have the sript on the frig. I'm not going to fill it. It hasn't stopped me from dressing.

I did ask a Dr that deals with trans issues about lower T levels being harmful and she said no not at all in fact it would lower the risk in males for prostrate problems.
I also asked if a male were to get his "boys" removed would that lower T levels and she said yes it would.
I said sign me up.

I guess I am going to have to get my T levels checked. I assumed since as I get older I am more inclined to crossdress, that my testosterone levels must be dropping with age. My boys seem to be getting smaller as they spend most of their time up inside of me since I am always tucked.

TraciG, good luck with your decision.

Testosterone levels affect different people in diffent ways and that is from bought experiance. I have a supplimental injection twice a month. Not a large amount but it makes a difference in my energy. The reason I get two instead of one is to keep it even through-out the month and that way I don't peak-out. They don't hurt anyway and my wife administers them for me. Back to the effects, before I new I was at a low level I never had a drop in libido but I didn't feel like getting out of bed to do anything other than what I absolutily had to and couldn't put off. After the Dr. got me on the shots I felt much better and my sex drive remained the same and according to my wife that is very high. I just felt like doing activities again, and that is where the CDing comes in. For me at least it took an effort and was/is a physical demand to go though the process, so I didn't have the energy to do it before but I still wanted to just as bad and that was a terrible frustration to the point of depression. But now I still don't feel like a spring chicken but I do have what it takes to get into my dressing and actually enjoy it. That is a great theariputic aide it's self for warding off depression and maintaining self confidense and contentment. So if you are over 30 I suggest you have your Dr. monitor your T-level and maintain it. Sure has helped me.

I've always been somewhat sexually dysfunctional and had below average libido, I'm not very hairy and etc. A couple of years ago my libido crashed from low to zero so my wife forced me to go to the doctor to have my T levels checked. She even noticed that my boys had shrunk and become mushy. It turns out that my T was ~800 ng/dl which is at the high end of normal especially for someone in their late fifties. So obviously the relationship between things like libido and T are more complicated than what is commonly assumed. Anyway, I got a new girlfriend out of that doctor visit. Her name is Levitra. She turns me on like nothing ever did and my wife doesn't mind having an occasional ménage Ã* trois with her.

I had low T levels about 10 years ago, and they have stayed low except when I use Androgel, which is a prescribed med., tho' quite pricey..
I finally got it re-approved by my insurance carrier, for a year at least, and I feel better - have more energy - seem to enjoy dressing more often,
and my sex drive has improved.. or at least I think it has.. (dressing more often may also be the culprit)..
I, too had the lazy, don't feel like getting out of bed syndrome, prior to the Androgel.. Low 'T' affects lots of things..

I am 45 and have an almost nonexistent testosterone level (called hypogonadism) because of a combination of diabetes and complications of hemochromatosis, a genetic disorder. I have been injecting testosterone twice monthly for several months and for the first time in years have a normal level in my system. I have noticed that I have a higher libido, more energy and am less moody. It has had no affect on how often or the degree of my cross dressing. I continue to live in skirts, panties and with the return of cold weather leggings and tights just as I have for years.

Mainly since I have noticable beasts for years I am planning on having testosterone and some other hormones checked on my next doctor consult. I have no idea if they are normal or out of wack. I would like to know either way.

When I was real young maybe 20's I was tested for testosterone and the Dr. told me it was pretty low but not to worry much about it. I guess it has always been pretty low. Doesn't make much difference to me I was able to have 3 kids so I guess I had enough.

Several years ago I took Test C (steroids) and let's just say it was an experience. It was truly like hitting the fountain of youth and I felt awesome. I was much stronger, gained about 20lbs of SOLID muscle and had the sex-drive of a teenager. That said my desire to dress during this 3 month period was out of this world. The only issue was that because I was so muscular I looked completely foolish in womens clothing. That said, having higher T levels would most likely increase your desire to dress.

The problem with a lot of the products your Dr. might give you is that they are mostly giving you the Test Creams and Gells and they aren't very good. They don't get absorbed well and can easily contaminate your children and/or partner. The best way to administer the Testosterone is to inject it directly into the muscles. Since Low T is becoming more and more popular they are developing better ways to administer the drugs.

Steroids are so frowned upon in this country and it's a shame. There is no such thing as "Roid-Rage" and it's the same as birth control but for a man. Women get female hormones and don't get preggers and same can be said for men. All they are getting is the Male hormone so it's really no different.

Having some prostate problems, went to a urologist and he approached the low T subject with me and now i am on the gel since 2011 and my dressing has come back stong along with my sex drive and have plenty of energy. I even think is has slowed down my aging i am 73 and many folks don't believe it.

Diagnosed with low Testosterone, and Androgel had a very positive effect on both libido and desire to dress.

Kinda late to the topic, I'm more-so replying to the original poster.

As a person who has problems with their endocrinology I can 'weigh in' with the effects of Testosterone.

So a little background, it turns out that I have a hereditary genetic condition where part of my brain doesn't work properly. My body isn't instructed to produce hormones, one of these is Testosterone. So when I got to the age of 19 and still hadn't developed (aside from gynecomastia and being overweight) I was taken to see a specialist who put me on male hormones and the others I was missing.

Suffice to say this means that all my body was doing, was creating any natural estrogen and minor amounts of testosterone. I've had the strong feeling to not be a male or want to develop as one since I was very young, but I haven't told anyone about it, aside from on forums like this one.

When I was put on testosterone (and I'm constantly on 5mg per day, which's now 7.5 per day) my feelings of wanting to be female just increased, frankly, and so did my sex drive. To my knowledge I haven't been tested for androgens, and with my understanding of testosterone, some of it is actually manufactured by the body into estrogen and binds to those receptors - which is why a side effect of this testosterone I take is - yes - gynecomastia.

So, if anything, it's part biological and part psychological - I can't say for certain what kind of effect being without these hormones have had on me for such a long time but I do wonder how I would've turned out if I had the option of taking the female hormones instead.

Hope this provides some insight.

I have been trying to get my doctors to check my T levels for the last 3 or four years. All 3 ignore my requests even when I have tried a change of doctors. I show many of the signs of low T, decreasing height (4 inches before age 52 ), a libido that is almost nill for two decades, etc.. Retirement insurance really sucks.
