View Full Version : Best Halloween Ever

Last night was easily the best Halloween I've ever had. Now the last two years were pretty awesome as I was at some gigs those years, but this year really topped everything. I got fully dressed up in my best gothic dress, blouse, high heels, tights, lacy gloves, gothic crucifix and did all my hair and make up. My house mate fixed up the hair and make up a little bit for me, and by the time it was all fully done and I looked in the mirror, I didn't look like myself at all, it was like looking back at some girl. I felt really passable, all my friends were saying so. It was great to see them get into some costumes too (not that mine was 'really' a costume). We all went off to a party that was going on at our university which was so much fun. Although I didn't technically pass because nearly everyone there already knew who I was and most of them had seen my costume before because I had worn it to a comic con in London the previous weekend, but they all pretty much treated me like a girl and not even in a patronizing or jokey way. One of my friends even put her Halloween headband on me because she said it looked better on me and made me look more feminine. It was great just interacting with friends and I just generally felt good. I even won best costume by a landslide, plus a raffle prize. I bumped into a few friends early this afternoon and they said it's actually kind of strange to see me dressed as a man now. Perhaps the icing on the cake is that one of the friends showed the photos to another friend who I've only met once and not really spoken to, and he was completely shocked when she told him that it wasn't a girl in the photo lol. To him at least, I passed completely. There's also an awesome video of me playing a song I wrote years ago for my band on a piano which I will post as soon as my friend puts it's on youtube, it looks amazing, but for now here's a photo of me with my prizes.

Sorry for the double post but I thought I'd bump this up as there's been no replies.
Last night I was playing a gig so I saw a load of people I haven't seen for a while. A couple of friends came into my room at one point before we had left for the gig and my friend Olivia pointed to the photo's of me dressed on the mantelpiece knowing it was me and said to my other friend, 'what do you think'? Even though she was standing between me and Olivia she thought it was Olivia, and was really shocked to find out that was me. A bit later on after I had finished the gig, my drummer mentioned he thought I looked like the guy from Rammstein, which caused my keyboardist to accidentally let slip he thought I made an attractive girl. A little weird to hear but quite flattering none the less. I've even had quite a few people seriously suggest I should dress like that for gigs sometimes as it matches our dark gothic sound

Very interesting story! Perhaps ''they'' are right! You should dress like that for your gigs! Love the picture!

I think a little X dressing would go a long way with your gigs.
Others do it to attract a wider audience, why not you.

I'm seriously considering doing it, at least on occasion. I think if we have a gig next Halloween I'll do it for sure. If we were your typical fast aggressive metal band then it probably wouldn't work but we're quite atmospheric and gothic with some slower sections. I'll probably wait till we get someone else on bass so that I'm purely just a vocalist though, don't want to ruin my gloves against some guitar strings ^_^

Yeah my look is inspired by Mana, the guitarist of a similar albeit much softer band called Moi Dix Mois, who is also a crossdresser (although probably the most passable I've ever seen). I think at the very least I could fit it into a future music video

YOu looking good girl, sounds like you had a great time, thanks for sharing, the rest of the girls don't know how much fun it really is to get out on halloween, and be seen, hugs.

There r quite a number of us dressers who dress to look like someone else and NOT ourselves, Ri!
Personally, seeing any of Robert in my mirror or pics ruins the illusion of Sherry for me.

Indeed, although it's only now that I've gotten much better with make up and started playing around with my hair that I've started to look so different and much more passable. Easily worth the money ^_^
