I'm excited. I joined (well unofficially) a local CD support group. Much like this site, but one I can go to in person, and meet other CDers to talk with and hang out with. My first meeting is in a few mins and I skipped my classes tonight to see how this goes. I'm currently in male drab, since I left work for school and didn't have the time to drive home, dress, and drive back. Maybe I'll dress later. But I can't skip much school.

I would be interested in hearing your opinion of the group as I was thinking about joining one.

Thanks, I did have a Great time. And you were right, I did wish I had dressed. One other member, and I were the only ones there that weren't dressed.

I'm sorry. The group I went to, has get together s quite frequently. Maybe, you can contact your local group, and express interest in meeting, but tell them your job situation.

I Loved every minute of it. It was much like being on this forum, but talking face to face with other people. I got to see how well, and not so well others looked. Everyone of them, had a great friendly personality, and had something feminine about themselves. Some looked incredible, and if you saw them in public, you would swear they were GG's. Others, not so much, but it made me feel like if they can do it and pass, then there's hope for me.

wish I could find one in my area
Have you tried searching the internet? Visited local bars, that might have CDer's, or even visited any CD friendly stores, and asked about any groups? Just hunt, I know it's gotta be tough in Texas, but hey, they say "Everything is Bigger In Texas" so there has got to be something, somewhere.

Its an eyeopener isn't it Angel?
You worry about passing and see others that just don't care and they live the way they want.
All are very nice people in my group some pass some don't but we are all of the same mindset and that is what counts.

yes it is. I rather enjoyed the group, and can't wait until I can meet up with them again. Unfortunately, it'll have to be a little while. They meet up when I should be in class. I don't want to miss more class then I should, so.... I'll have to wait until just before Christmas when school is out, and I get a new schedule for next semester, that will allow me to meet with them more frequently.

Good. When the urge rolls in, stand strong. Crossdressing is not more important than going to your classes. The crossdressing will argue and suggest that it is more important than sleep and food, but it is not. You can crossdress tomorrow. You cannot find the time to go to school later in life!

When you return to the group you will find it even more rewarding.
Get that schooling out of the way first.

There's really not much schooling that's worth a damn. Technical education is about the only fairly good stuff. Real education is being self-educated and you don't need schools for that. Most schooling is brainwashing by mediocre authoritarians.

Anyway, if you can contact any of the members of the support group, you can ask them if any of them can meet with you somewhere at a time that's better for you. A lot of schools also have places where support groups can meet, so you could possibly start such a support group at your school, either officially or spontaneously.

I was going to my first transgender support group in Ashland, Or. three weeks ago. But on the morning of the day of the meeting I woke with stomach pains that required me to go to ER. As it turned out, I had a cancerous kidney and was operated on two days later. I'm resting and recovering and am looking forward to attend my first TS support group meeting. :)

Hi Christine.

I am wishing you well down the road and many, many meetings at your new support group.

I want to let you know serendipity just happens - and often in the emergency room.

A GG I worked with in the past had a hard fall off her horse and in the ER they found a benign tumor on her lung the size of a tennis ball. I had a ruptured disk that put me in the ER where they discovered an enlarged Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. (One of the true silent killers and they put a stent in immediately!) I am glad they caught your tumor in time!

Glad you had fun. Hopefully, they'll have get togethers that won't conflict with your class schedule, so you can join in fully dressed!
