Hi everyone,
Well after seeing my therapist who told me I should dress as often as I can. I decided I would. But I kinda got tired of the putting on my wig and makeup so I decided to go for a more natural look. I took pics of me with my real hair (which is really short but I am going to grow it out from now on); sorry I know its kinda hard to see the feminine aspect of the hairstyle because it looks like a random mess and couldn't find a decent camera angle to capture it in. Besides using some concealer to hide my facial hair shadow and vaseline for my dry lips, I have no makeup on. Its not fully passable but I actually enjoyed it since I was showing more of the real me. Anyways judge for yourself and all comments and critiques are welcome even the negative ones (can't guarantee that I won't cry though) because it'll help me see what areas I could work on and if I do need makeup in certain regions of my face. Thanks!

You look good! If you trim your eyebrows you will get even a better look :)

I was going to say that was one of the earliest things I did was start plucking away the brow. People tend to notice, but not be able to put their finger on what is different about you.
As to the hair, let it grow out it'll come and probably go through an awkward length too. I have an expensive wig that I havent worn in 5 or so years which you see in my avatar, but my real hair is much prettier.

Looks great. I agree about the eye brows too. This hair talk get's me down, I'm going to transition and being in my 50s and bald on top, wigs will be my best friend. But, I can go short, to medium or long in a few minutes. Got to look on the bright side of life right?

Hair, hair, hair!!!! too much there, not enough here, wrong color there......My oh my, what is a girl to do. Thank goodness for wigs, tweezers, and coloring.
You look very nice, and with some trimming and time you will look even better. Just keep doing what makes you feel comfortable.

It's so hard to make any wig look natural without tons of work. I love your natural hair. Even at this length, see a good stylist so she can get you on the right track. Get those eyebrows under control, and you're a natural beauty. You have the raw materials to make a centerfold.-Celeste
Serena, I actually like your look a lot! It's a great start! My two cents (actually 3):
- If you could, I think your look could benefit from trimming and shaping your eyebrows a little. Nothing drastic, just try to make them slightly thinner, emphasizing the arc. That will "clean up" the brow area and give your big, beautiful eyes the attention they deserve.
- Do you have any sort of breastforms? Cup size doesn't matter, whatever makes you happy!
- You seem to have a good volume of hair, which is great! Perfect styling comes with practice, so don't give up!
Hope this helps! :)

There are shorter hairstyles for women. Your hair is just fine, you do not need a wig. You will have several hairstyles as time passes.
The eyebrows as others have said. The good news - it is an effective, easy and inexpensive way to improve your femme look. It is a bit more upkeep but beauty is pain. GG's go thru all kinds of torture to look good and so must us TS.
You have a good build so that is not gonna be a problem.
I think except getting those brows fixed, you are pretty much "there".
Funny though how "dressing up" loses it's fun once you start doing it full time. Double edge sword there though - sure you are living that "fantasy" you read about on the CD forums where they wish "for a whole week" they could dress. Once those weeks become months and turn to years, the fun is gone gone. That is when you look forward to the days of NOT dealing with makeup, the bra, etc... I get up on days off and think, "ALRIGHT I don't even have to brush my hair today if I don't want!"

I definitely noticed the hair, too. Short hair can be super feminine but it is very high maintenance: I'm thinking like Pink or Rihanna, with gel/mousse and very defined shapes on the bangs with all that awesome volume workin' it at the back!
I also agree that a tiny (tiny!) amount of eyebrow banzai might make your face more feminine - bit to be honest, I kind of like big eyebrows. They feel more natural and more like you love yourself for who you are. If you get a satchel with Frida on it people will get that. :)

Nicole Erin- I've never had a day like that. I'm about to start building a huge shower stall, so I'm doing my make up now. -Celeste

You have a great head of hair! With a little styling it can look awesome, lots of women have hair as short as yours and it will just get better the more it grows out. :)

Thank you girls for all the wonderful replies! I loved reading all of them :)
I will takes everyone's advice on doing my eyebrows. I'm also planning to get my ears pierced within the next 6 months since that usually increases femininity. As for the hair I am worried about having that awkward medium hair phase when its not really long or short but I think I can manage If I can find a good hair stylist. Regarding breast forms I don't have any but its not bugging me that much but I might get some eventually or learn the makeup trick to create cleavage. The next time I post a pic here I'll hopefully have my eyebrows done and longer hair that is professionally styled.

I'm right now into the awkward hair phase, it sucks, I'm glad I'm still doing it while in "male mode" cause I don't care how do I look as a male, :D
you can still use a wig during that phase.
regarding breast forms, you can also use padded bras, just remember to get a proper fit.

Same here. I'm not really concerned about my looks when in male mode although I realized that besides what I'm wearing in these pics, this is pretty much how I look as a guy (just add on a bit of 5 o'clock shadow). I guess I might wear a wig if I don't feel confident enough but I am going to try my best to just go with my actual hair and ignore the awkwardness and stares. The padded bra sounds like something I would give a try. I'm going to go shopping soon with a post-op girl who said she's willing to help me out :)
