Hello,
My doctor started me on a T blocker (Spiro) about 3 1/2 months ago. He started me on a low dose of Estrogen 3 weeks ago. My question is will I see any changes with the low dosage of E or will I have to wait til he bumps my dosage up? If we are allowed to say dosages, I can give those to you.

It depends on the person. I started seeing changes from spiro alone.

You will have to go to the Safe Haven area to talk about specific dosages. If you aren't a member there yet you will have to send a message to Nigella.

Everyone's body reacts differently so there is no knowing how a lower dosage will affect one person and how it will affect another. The doctor should be monitoring it through blood tests to determine what your actual hormone levels are, one dosage does not fit all.

Hi Pamela and Sandra,
Being on Spiro I noticed my skin is softer, My hair is coming back in my receding hair line and I have new hair that has filled in my head as well, also my belly hair is not as noticeable. I never have had hair anywhere else so those areas I am good.
Since starting my low dose of E I have noticed my nipples are sore and my breast area is firmer. I bought myself a 36a bra from Victoria Secret. It is called the bombshell and it gives you 2 added cup sizes. I were this just to see if and when I will start filling in the cup size.
I go for my next blood test in 4 weeks and at that point I look for my doctor to increase my E. After that I go for another blood test in 7 weeks to check my levels again.

That kind of regime is pretty much like my doctor used. "Use the lowest dosage that will produce the necessary results". That and it takes time for the body to get used to the drugs and have them build up to a therapeutic level. The doctor will want to see how quickly your hormone levels change with the introductory dosages.

The changes you describe are pretty normal. Sounds like you are likely younger than many of us, though, as spiro alone does not often result in hair regrowth: you must have caught your "male pattern baldness" before it had really set it (it is triggered by testosterone.)

I don't see any evidence on myself that my skin is softer, but I am older and I have seen most people list that as a consequence for them.

If transition is your plan then you have the rest of your life to be on estrogen, patience young padewan!

As has already been stated, changes are unique to each individual. So how my body reacted to HRT has no bearing on how your body will react. Sure 1,000 members can jump on this thread and tell you all about their changes but that still won't tell you how your body will react.

I want to wish you well along your journey. Don't rush things or expect miracles overnight. BTW, Safe Harbor is a great place to ask specific or more personal questions. Check it out.
