LOL, yesterday I and my best friends, son and girlfriend, have gone to the local park for a stroll. There amongst the lake and barbeque huts we walked upon a fitness center. Under the canvas roof stood slew of gizmos, an exercise equipment designed to use bodies own resistance to invoke useful dynamic workout. Amongst the machines stood a set of pull up bars, the sight was a joy to my young, 207lbs, 6' tall body building son who jumped to the first machine as though it was a cotton candy treat.
My girlfriend did also indulge in much slower approach and laughed at the possibility, she is also a woman in making.
I stood there looking at all this equipment reminiscing of era not so long gone when I would have diminished the value of here here measly props with my enormous muscle driven, body builders ego.
But I just stood there nearly giggling at the idea that I should approach one of the machines. Of course my son started to encourage just such possibility and I unsuspecting, have approached the pull up bars and entertained the idea.
Mind you, only 4 years ago I would have pulled up a wide grip back pullups a 45 times, yep I was a monster at 227lbs and a 28 year history of body building experience. I grabbed the bar and .........................ahmmmmmmmm, and.............................ok this is got to be embarrassing........Nothing!
I released the grip, my arms hurting, and the only strength I could show is how much I could giggle at such a demise.
I was ecstatic!!!!!!
Weakling of a girl, I was yet again reminded of the journey and its tremendous power, in totality of transition and how sweet it feels to be void of all the baggage of male character.
YEY, if man only knew the power of a giggle!!!!
