Ok. I have been on HRT for a while, and in the last few months I have noticed leg and arm and hand hairs have really thinned in diameter and are a whole lot less visible. Razor stubble on legs is no longer as rough, nor does it return as fast. I can see being just fine with shaved legs long term.

But darn chest and abdomen hairs are not thinning as much. (Mercifully I have no back hair). Should I plan on adding chest and tmmy hair removal on to a lazer/electrolosis schedule and budget for it? Or is there any significant hope they'll fade more too?

After 2 years on hrt my chest and abdominal hair are very slow to return after epiliatating. I try to do everything every 2 weeks or so.

I would think that electrolysis on the body like that would get INSANELY expensive. It can already cost thousands of dollars... sometimes tens of thousands... for just the face!!!

Laser would work if the hair is dark and your skin is light... otherwise... I'd epilate and/or wax.

Yea. $. My beard has gone white so no lazer there anymore, and 1/2 chest hair are white, tummy hair is still brown. As for my skin tone? Seriously pale. Red head (now brown and going grey) who doesn't tan.

I'm assuming you are under a doctor's care with the HRT so why not ask him or her about the hair?

Linda, no dr. Besides, the forum usually has plenty of "been there done that" advice, for free, no appointment necessary. :)

It's been 20 years since I last tried dealing with body hair, shaving was a poor solution - stubble everywhere. I lacked will power to try waxing it (visions of ooouuuch!). So I was hoping HRT would help ease the task. Tummy and chest hair is a lot less dense than beard, but there's more real estate to cover, so to speak.

I use an epilator. The advantage is that over time with hormones the growth becomes almost nothing. I am now down to clearing my legs once a month, my arms once every 2 months, and my seven chest hairs and abdomen once a quarter.

i agree with the epil comment. Huge believer in using one although it took a few years for the hairs to really thin out

I've been told laser and electroloysis is more efficient on someone under HRT (new hair only).

I've been fortunate to snag a Groupon to do laser around my belly (and chest).

I, too, seem to see a slowing of hair growth but I don't notice them turning to vellum.

Hair density (follicles per square inch) is a lot less on the body, but it still wouldn't be cheap.

Might be a good idea to buy an epilating machine and learn how to do it yourself!

Kathryn, 7 hairs, those are the encouraging words I need to hear. :)

I haven't tried an epilator in 20 years. 20 years ago mine was a Marquis de Sade torture device and I wimped out pretty quick. Waxing felt no better. Maybe on my now finer hairs it wouldn't be that bad? Brand recommends?

Geez do I hate shaving. My legs are hairy as hell as I type this. I'm gonna have to do something about it very soon though because Santacon is Saturday and my outfit doesn't leave much to the imagination.

I have been on HRT for 28 months now and the last 9 have been without testicles. If you were to run a finger between my 38D implants, you would feel some stubble because I STILL have a bit of hair growing on my chest. Sexy right?

I shave my armpits every morning, and then I make a quick run between the boobs just to make sure that no one sees a stray hair. It seems like less hair grows every year so I do foresee a time when I won't need to shave my chest but it's prolly a couple of years out yet.

It would be cheaper to simply go back to being a man! Sorry, I could not help myself.

I have never had torso hair except for a "little" pubic hair in female pattern and a "little" underarm hair BUT I have been on HRT for 4 years and there has been NO change in either place. Now in that 4 years, all my arm and leg hair (what little I did have) has turned into what I call "peach fuzz.

I don't believe HRT is going to have any affect on torso or facial hair after puberty and especially at your age.

This has been my expierience as well the epilator is my friend!
