I was looking through my groupons app and came across a great deal for an all inclusive resort in Cancun that says they are LGBT friendly. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to spend four days dressed en femm in Cancun! Its a pretty good price too. $528 for three nights.

Has anyone else done this?

It's not something I've done or could afford, but I'd love to do it.

No, but I came very close to going to a LGBT retreat in Colorado a couple years ago, but I couldn't get enough money up to go. I think a few of the members here went and had a great time.

Maybe the STAFF is LGBT friendly. But, will the other guests be? I'm suspicious---

Consider the Keystone (Transgender) Conference in Harrisburg PA in March.

Not as warm as Cancun, but you will be surrounded with over 400 other CD/TG who will warm your heart.

And if you don't mind driving 5 hours, it won't take you any longer to get there than Cancun.

The hotel staff was generally very nice to us, but the hotel was sold out a couple of nights due to us, the hotel staff had to be nice to even if they normally wouldn't.

I do agree with your suspicions, it is really the other guests you have to watch out for.

So true! I went to a LGBT get together at a hotel in Daytona once about four years ago and some the other guest were disgustingly rude and inconsiderate and some of the hotel staff weren't very polite or friendly either.

Hmm... we should plan a CD'rs retreat or convention at one of these all inclusive resorts and just swamp em. Then we would be surrounded by very accepting peers!

I was a lot suspicious of the wording in this ad as well. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what resort you go to. They aren't going to care about LGBT issues as long as you are paying. Its the other guests that would make things uncomfortable, unfortunately. Can't we all just get along?

Agreed, our local casino is LGBT friendly and it is in their mission statement that LGBT are welcome. I've been there a lot and since we are a transphobic city I don't see any TG girls except for once. I would not attempt it here because of the patrons.

That said, events events like Diva Las Vegas and the SCC etc. would be fine.

There is also far less chance of being kidnapped or murdered in Harrisburg, PA.

Sadly, I think that when most people say LGBT, they mean LGB.
