I have looked far and wide through the almighty telescope called Google to understand the effect of HRT on head hair, but alas I have not come across any literature on the topic.

I understand that some of my male pattern baldness will reverse, but I wonder if Est will give me a full head of hair similar to a GG's.

It will be nice to hear from all of you about your experiences.

Thanks ... xoxo Jessi

it won't be the estrogen, it will be the testosterone blockers and don't expect too much. You won't look like Fabio. If that worked alone even if nothing else changed on me I would be on it in a heartbeat.

Hair loss in males is caused by the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone so if there is an absence of testosterone there is nothing to convert into dihydrotestosterone.

You will or should always have some level of testosterone because otherwise there will be severe long term health consequences. I have plenty of hair but must worry about osteoporosis and other health problems that usually do not show up until later in life from life long low levels of testosterone and other complications related to hormones.

There are blockers that you can take that prevent the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone but talk to your doctor because I doubt it would be safe to mix them with HRT.

Otherwise hair transplants can sometimes be affective because the hair on the back of your head is different than the hair related to male pattern balding so when this hair is relocated it is not affected by male pattern balding.

Many physicians include a primary T-blocker and finasteride in their HRT regimens. Mine does. It doesn't change the risk profile as far as taking cross-sex hormones, as far as I'm aware. The use of finasteride itself is subject to its own controversies, though.

AH not so fast girls. Too much "E" will cause you to lose hair. Just ask a lot of Natal women or an OBY/GYN doctor or your Endocrinologist.

Hi,

Allso to much ... E ... can mean an over rideing of Progesterone , Will cause a lot of health issues , so a replacment is in order, if G P 's would wake up to that fact & give a H R T for women, as needed. & going in to menoparse or before, & after again as needed,

This is only for women, just gives you an idear,
