My wife is recovering from major elective surgery - tummy tuck w/ lipo (a month ago). She wasn't really overweight to begin with, but wanted to get rid of that paunch (sp?) from her lower abdomen. Being out of the work force since our son was born, she's been living mostly in sweats for the past 5 years, or other clothing at least a size or 3 too large. Sadly, she just didn't feel very good about how her body looked, despite my assertions to the contrary. So now she's looking rather hot, and feeling much better about herself as well.
So tonight I surprised her with 6 or 7 tops I got for her at Kohl's the other night. I wasn't sure how enthusiatically my gesture would be received. Fortunately, she was really very pleased, saying "hey, I'll just let you pick out my new wardrobe." **swoon**
Perhaps you'd need to know a bit more background info to fully appreciate our interaction tonight. Suffice it to say it was a rather big deal for her to say that, and that it reeeally feels great. Woo hoo! :D Did somebody say shopping trip?
So, how many of you shop for your spouses or SO's?
Hugs,
Tammi
OOH OOH, I just noticed something else to celebrate tonight.
I just hit the B I G 5 0 0 !

I do it all the time. As long as I buy her something, she doesn't complain about me shopping for me. Tricky AAAH! Or when we go shopping together, I always pay for her things. Keeps me on the plus side. She even asked which bra I wanted set out for the morning. Seeing as I don't have to go to work tomarrow. It might cost you a few bucks, but it's money well spent. Good luck...BJ

That was truly a sweet thing to do. [So you turned 500? Wow! Do you remember the Spanish Armada?]
When you said personal shopper, the first thing that popped into my mind was the personal shopper at Nordstroms. Mine is Patricia. We met, we talked about the type of clothes I like, she had me try on some things, and took measurements. Now, all I have to do is call Pat and she has it ready for me.
Happy New Year!

I shop for my wife, too. She likes it, although now she has a better idea of just why I tend to have such nice taste in her clothes. But I don't let that bother me much. I stll buy her clothes whenever the occasion arises.

Went shopping with my GF yesterday for the first time. I was unusually nervous about it but I bought some great sleepware. She knows and is OK with it but does not yet appear to be enthusiastic about it. At least not to the point of helping me shop. She was off in another part of the store shopping for herself but that is OK with me. I'm OK with any level of acceptance from her. It may develope into full acceptance. I hope!!! :)

Imagine my surprise to find this thread resurface after 3 weeks! Thanks Jasmin, and thanks to all of you for your kind words. As an update... I've continued to shop for the Mrs. quite a bit, giving her wardrobe a makeover as a Chrsitmas present.

really kinda wierd, with all the issues we have been having about all this stuff, but she is constantly asking me if she looks OK, or if her outfit looks good, or "which one'? So the Christmas I took the liberty of buying her some nice things. She likes them and I had fun shopping. One lady in a store said to me. "I wish you were shopping for me". If she only new!
