So anyway, yesterday it was wet here in London, so I spent more than a few hours wandering through the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery.

I saw at least two portraits of famous crossdressers.

1. Chevalier d'Eon (1728 - 1810). This portrait is a recent acquisition, and the fact that he/she lived both as a spy and a crossdresser is highlighted!

2. Radclyffe Hall (1880 - 1943). She/he wrote the classic lesbian novel, The Well of Loneliness.

I had an interesting day.

Is The Well Of Loneliness the story of two New Zealand girls or is there another book.?
The NZ story is a powerful story. I read it when I was sixteen and enjoyed it.
I have the book, I can not find it so I do not know the author is.

I have done a search and found that Peter Jackson made a film of the New Zealand girls called "Heavenly Creatures"
The book that I read was about them and called "The Well Of Loneliness".
As there is no reference to such a book I am now eager to find it.
I will also try and read Radclyffe Hall's book as well.

On topic... I am glad you had a wonderful day, I have been through the National Gallery about 10 years ago.
