Are you trying to get it without a prescription? You should be seeing your doctor so he or someone he refers you to can prescribe it and monitor your progress.

I am sure there are doctors in your area, check with your primary care doc for a referal. If you can't find anyone, I have a great doc up here in Fort Worth...........Stephanie

I'd start with your primary care doctor and ask her for a referral to a specialist. You will most likely need to have a referral from a gender therapy specialist before any doc will prescribe HRT.

Yes, I sense there are some parts of this conversation that are missing.
Are you seeing a therapist with experience in transgender treatment? If so, and if she or he is following WPATH guidelines then she'll want to evaluate you for 3 months before she recommends HRT. You can take that recommendation to your primary care physician who may prescribe if he is comfortable treating you in an "informed consent" treatment protocol or your doctor may refer you to an endocrinologist.

Once you have had sufficent contact with a therapist, you'll get a letter or referral to an endocrinologist. Austin Endocrinology is very nice. For a therapist you might try Katy Koonce. Her office is 297-7799.

If you are looking to begin the process, you may want to hold off on starting your new job as a girl. Let the pink fog blow over, get down to the hard work of figuring out who/what you are, and then, if you find you are truly TS, begin the REALLY hard work of transition.

I live near Austin and I'm on HRT. I see Dr Hillary Miller at Austin Regional Clinic. She's a great doctor but I don't think she is taking new patients. I found her by emailing ARC and asking for a referal for a HRT doc. They recomended two doctors. I chose Dr Miller and the clinic rep made sure it was okay for me to go en femme and present as Stacey. I've never had any problem there and I get labs drawn there everytime I go. If you have any questions please PM me.
