View Full Version : Educating the Nail Salon Girls

So this morning I had a few hours and realizing I needed my nails done, I headed to my nail salon. I have been going to these girls for about 6 months and we all are very comfortable with each other now. Today the comfort level moved to a new level. The girls here are all Vietnamese and at the most are 3 years or less stateside, and have been pretty sheltered as far as meeting crossdressers. Today, their curiosity finally got the better of them and as I was getting my pedi and mani. I began answering questions about myself and my crossdressing. It was hard for them to understand how I would show up some days without boobs and some days when more fem, having boobs. I was having a difficult time getting across that it is breast forms and bras. Since I was the only customer, I finally reached under my shirt, showed my bra with my small breast forms, and then pulled the form out and held it in my hand. The shock and surprise was priceless. Suddenly I had 6 girls chatting rapidly in Vietnamese and, examining my breast form. Soon we were talking about where to purchase, how real they are, costs......suddenly one of them starts talking about her breast enlargement surgery in great detail. By the time my nails were done, I had educated them not only about breast forms, but the wide variety of orientations sexually of CD's, some of the how's and whys of us girls
3 hours later I finally got out, my nails done, and 6 more ladies educated about girls like us. I can't wait until next month to see where the conversation goes.

I was at my salon this week with my friend and her husband. The salon owner asked me how come I haven't come in dressed for a long time. I was there once to get my nails colored for my Christmas party and there was no party this year so I didn't have a reason to dress.
The only other chance I have to dress is on Sundays and they are not open then.

I've seen lots of Vietnamese girls pretty well endowed by their creator. Perhaps they never seen a breast form before. Glad you were able to shed light on crossdressing.

At my[lol]Boston area salon[only when I am there ] I have 2 clued in Vietnamese girls out of 6.But the attention and discussion with me goes a long way toward educating the others. Here in Florida, after you become a "regular",barriers have sometimes been broken down and the girls start asking questions as they are curious to know...All good!Enjoy!

I have been going to the same salon for about 7 years. All the girls in the salon, and the 3 men, are Vietnamese. They all know that I am a Crossdresser and have seen me in both enfemme and drab. The girls prefer me to come in dressed enfemme. Since I have natural 40 B breasts I don't ever wear forms. I believe the 2 girls who usually do my mani/pedi both have B cups, although they are naturally smaller than me!! Those girls do give me a massage when I am there, and make sure the massage includes my breasts!! BTW, I almost always have a bra on!!

My salon has 6 tiny...and I mean tiny, Vietnamese girls who speak very little english. They have seen me both ways. I'm not sure what any of there opinion of me is, but they sure talk alot with each other while doing my nails. Then they show me off to the other girls and customers.
What I hope they're saying- 'This woman looks just like Charlize Theron.'
What they're probably saying- 'This woman looks like Rosie O'Donnell'.

Much of non-christian/muslim Southeast Asia is very tolerant/accepting of the third sex. If your Vietnamese friends are first or second generation immigrants to the U.S. they may be catholic and we all know how some religions are less than tolerant of "aberrations". I am glad you found some additional friends to share a part of yourself with.
My daughter-in-law is newly from Laos. She is a buddhist and has not yet developed the discrimination found everywhere on everything here in the States.

I have had similar reactions in small botiques in the UK when buying exotic lingerie.
The interaction is terrific once you establish good communication with the SA's.

I've got on GG friend who really has become my "big sister" in a lot of ways. I sent this as part of an email to her last week, she told me I owed her a glass of white wine, a dry cleaning bill, but she rescued the keyboard
Ok so the last time I made an appointment to see*******, my waxing tech the spa "goofed" she was off, and I got some ****ing troll from Eastern Europe who didn't seem to be so happy to be working with/on me, and kind of took it out on my ass (on many levels)
So I try a Long Island spa - OK but inconvenient, pricey, and hard to schedule
try another place - the wax was ok, the moisturizer/wax remover trashed a top that I liked
try a new place this week - there was a bit of a language thing (all asians), and they don't do male brazilian - OK I can deal. They do a great job, the tech is working away, startles, and says
Oh - tiny earring in both ear - real gold? I say yes
Oh uhh - you haveu long nails for man? I say a bit
Oh uhh - you ever want shape & color (woo hooo) I say well, yes, but not today are you good with it?
Oh uhh I go ask boss, she comes back and "boss say fine, you make appointment
she's working away sort of makes a face and says
Oh uhh - you ever wax ear and nose? I haven't, and say can you do that?
she says "yes, take out earrings" and waxes the interior, and exterior of my ears ok - I now have something to compare getting a brazilian to.
next I feel something warm in a nostril and a tug , which gives me something to compare getting my ears waxed to
upside I don't have to worry about trimming those really gross hairs, and the "shells" of my ears feel soft, and look sorta cute. I hadn't realized how many "clues" scream male or female - somehow as small a thing as that changed my appearance.
Suzie (the tech) was a bit disappointed when I turned down an eyebrow shaping, I didn't want a miscommunication on how far to go, how much to remove, and noticed her brows were way thinner than I'm willing to go right now.
Long and short there was a language barrier, a number of staffers who had to get something out of the closet in the waxing room, and a lot of side giggling. On the other (soon to be french manicured there) hand there was more genuine acceptance and warmth than I have had in a lot of places.

In a month from now I am going to march into a nail salon in full femme mode and ask for a French mani pedi.
Its going to be interesting to see how its gonna go because I've only been there once and I was dressed as a guy. We'll see what they say...

Sounds like a fun time. I wonder what the conversation will entail next time. . .
