Queen for a day

I have been thinking about a lot of things and reading a lot here in the forum.

Yesterday I was listening to one of my favorite music artists and one of their songs hit a cord.

The song is titled "Queen for a Day" by Blackmore's Night and the lyrics sum up pretty artistically how my femme side wishes things could be and what I would do if I could.

Here's the lyrics:

The concept sounds good but a real queen's life is not her own. It belongs to her subjects and her kingdom. That is not me. I have to be my own person regardles of things being good, bad or indifferent.:)

I understand the reality of a Queens life and that is not for me either; however, the thought is fantasy after all.

I would like to be a fantasy queen or princess for a day.
The type of day I imagined when I was younger.
I know the reality is not the same.

I'd be very happy to get dressed in the morning, and be able to go to the mall, grocery store. Chat with friends, and never think once that I am a cross dresser.

Why do I always think of the 50's radio/TV show of that name. I am old enough to remember it and it was pretty bad. Nice song though,good band.

I love Blackmore's Night! I'm also a Renfaire fanatic. Back in the '50's (yes, 1950's!), there was a daytime show called "Queen For A Day". Several ladies would tell their hardluck story and the winner received specialized gifts to help with whatever tragedy had befallen them. My grandmother watched it religiously. Along with all the soaps.

If I were Queen for a Day? I'd have the Royal surgeons do SRS, FFS and a lot of nip & tuck!
