So tomm here in Michigan Larry the Cable Guy is gonna be at Firekeepers Casino and i'm going with my best friend. She suggested that I wear a miniskirt with leggings to the show. So I think I will prolly do that. I Kinda thought I would share this. I will post on here Sunday morning about how it went!

Um, what? "Git R Done" Larry The Cable Guy? That will be a most interesting update to hear. I can image a fair amount of his fan base (which I am not really a part of, but I do find him funny at times) is redneckish males...

You know, with a few exceptions, rednecks tend not to be very LGBT friendly. So, wear a miniskirt alright, but watch your back, too!

Yes, I would make myself look good the closest shave ever and have a good time without attracting too much attention.
Two hot chicks among rednecks?

I would recommend against doing this for your own safety. There will certainly be a lot of rednecks there and it could be unsafe, especially after the show when walking to your car.

I don't know about the fans but Larry is alot smarter than his "cable guy" persona. They've interviewed him on some of the Blue Collar Tour videos and he doesn't have much of an accent either. Have fun and be safe.

I don't think he has any accent at all...but then again he is from like 50 miles from where I grew up in Nebraska :)

I have faith in the Rednecks. They will be talking about you but they are usually at least gentlemen in a casino. As everyone says, be safe. Also expect an ad lib if you are close enough to be seen

He has 2 different voices he has his regular voice then he has his redneck blue collar voice I have never heard his regular voice. I am really kinda hoping for an ad-lib but I dont think me and my friend will be close enough plus I think it will be a black skirt with black leggings and prolly wont be able to be seen in the dark, although I was thinking of switching to wearing my white skirt but i'm not really sure yet!!

Why slam rednecks? I grew up as one, still live in the south, drive a pickup truck, and have more than one gun, not to mentions multiple doctoral degrees and various other "nice" things. We don't all live in trailer parks (although I have and it ain't all bad) and walk around with a beer bottle in our hands and our butts hanging out of our jeans. Most of us are be pretty nice people and we do like to look at sexy gals.

That said, Abby, wear some tall heels with that mini, put on a nice fragrance, and enjoy the company.

Interesting - I have found "redneck" men to be more accepting, almost more sheepish than most.....

Abby, you mentioned the miniskirt and leggings, but I'm unsure from your post if you were otherwise trying to pass or if you were doing man in a skirt type looks?

Larry was one of the first comics I opened for professionally when I started. His real name is actually Dan Whitney and he used to perform as Dan Whitney and Larry was just a character he did sometimes in his act. He started calling in to radio stations as Larry and got so popular with t that eventually it just became his entire act. It was a weird week for me to work. It was right before the Blue Collar movie came out and so he was already really popular but was just about to blow up. I think it was his last comedy club tour before he then was big enough to do theaters. I did not do well that week, my comedy, especially then and just starting out, didn't appeal to his audience.

It's interesting though reading this thread. I'm totally guilty of seeing the title and thinking "danger will Robinson!" And while I don't doubt that there are areas where going to a Larry the cable guy show cross-dressed would be risky, isn't it a little hypocritical of us to just blanket rule that rednecks are bad news?
