I’ve been dressing and going out for years but today has been a big day for me.
I’m in Fort Lauderdale for a little vacation and decided to go to South Beach for the day completely dressed. I wore my Capri leggings and sweater to ride my bike along the ocean trail and to the Lincoln Road Mall for 2 hours and then stopped at the News Café for lunch. Stopping for lunch was a huge step for me and was more than a little nerve wracking. I think I was OK but I ate quickly and left as soon as I was done. The place was packed too which made me even more nervous but as scared as I was it was also exhilarating
I then did a quick change into a new summer dress and went to the WEAM (World Erotic Arts Museum) as I wanted to see the Helmut Newton exhibit. It was fabulous and was even more so because I was able to go as Margo.
It’s been a wonderful day

Sounds awesome ... I've only been out twice ... in winter coat!
I'd love to ride my bike ... would even buy a feminine one ...but not sure how to, well...

One small step for Margo today, an even bigger one tomorrow.
In a crowded diner you are less likely to get read than if the diner is empty.

You might as well put the bikini on now and go to the beach for some tanning. Make it a perfect vacation.

Thanks so much ladies it was great hearing from you.
I'm going to Key West next week Billie for a few days and am very much looking forward to wearing my new summer dress and jeans skirt :)
MonaLIsa, I've been going to Haulover Beach and no bikini is required :)
And yes Maria this sure beats the cold dark upstate NY days & nights
Thanks again ladies for your comments and encouragement

Margo that sounds great. Those first trips out the door and into the big world are frightening and when you are back in your room you remember how "right" it all seemed. I've been to Key West a number of times and have been tempted to go out but have never taken all my Sarah stuff along. Let us know how it goes, post some photos and inspire me to give it a shot next time I'm down there.

To some of you this will be old hat but to me it’s been huge.
For the last 7 days I’ve been Margo 24/7 and it’s been incredible. I’m at my hotel in Fort Lauderdale, I’ve been out to eat, I’ve been at the hotel pool (in my new one piece bathing suit), I’ve been to the beach, I’ve been to South Beach, have run errands to stores and the post office, I’ve been to a museum, I’ve been out to a couple of clubs, admittedly the clubs were in Wilton Manors where we’re more accepted but it’s all been a learning experience. I can’t begin to describe to you how great it has been and how wonderful I’ve felt.
Was I read, probably but I’ve not had a single person say anything rude (at least not to my face, lol) I believe that 80% of the people don’t notice or care, 10% of the people just can’t decide and 10% just plain don’t like us no matter what. But I can’t tell you how many situations I’ve been in like being in the elevator with it full of people, waiting in lines, using the ladies rooms it’s simply not been an issue and I’m just wowed and thrilled by it. I’ve been walking and biking every day and interacting with people and never a problem.
So, I can tell you that no black helicopters swooped in to grab me, no anti-trans or CD police came after me, no one threatened me it’s just been nice, really nice

Congratulations!!!! Sounds like you have had a great weak. I bet it is going to be a downer when you have to go back to drab.

This looks suspicious. Look at this other thread started by this same poster.

Margo,

Welcome to our part of the world -- enjoy your wonderful week, even if it is a bit on the cool side! There are a number of us in the Ft. Lauderdale area (not me...), maybe you can make contact.

And yes, the black helicopters will not buzz you ....

why say it's suspicious, that's a little insulting. I'm having a wonderful time and doing lots of firsts that I wanted to share I'm sorry if you find it suspicious Jamie.

Jamie if you are counting the days and looking for facts we all say things that do not match up all the time.
When trying to make a situation comprehensible it is better to leave some detail out than try to justify something.
I have mentioned about 3 to 5 housemates in my various early life adventures.
This has been correct for the situation I describe, but if you analyze it how many housemates were there.
I actually shared a house with three girls, with others staying over weekends.
I was the guy that looked after the girls interests and they felt safe having me there.
Just because we had fun sometimes was a bonus.
So on face value Margo I am glad you are enjoying yourself and after seven days you really wont want to change back into drab.
That will be an adventure in itself.

I combined the two threads because it was a continuation of the previous thread with many of the same details.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time though
