Does anyone else find that when life gets a little stressful the debit card comes out of the wallet and the online shopping for women's clothes begins? I think it is a form of therapy for me.

Yes, I could go on and on about it but I think it is a form of relaxation therapy, shopping for women's clothes, both online and in person.

Any method of shopping for pretty things is a stress reliever, lol.

Yes, this is true for me also. I’ve never given it too much thought, but I guess it acts as a very pleasant diversion to whatever stressor has entered my life.

Yes totally. That's how i got past the just lingerie, rather limited stage of crossdressing.I love browsing and diverting my mind while still concentrating on a mission- finding the new perfect outfit and deliberating.Weird i never used to understand women who spent hours or weekends shopping, when i was a youngster, before starting CDing properly.I thought it was just stressful and thought they were mad wasting their time off so lol.How times change!

oh how i totally agree with that statement!! after a rough day or week, a few hours of shopping always relax's and calms me down. and if
i buy something, how happy and wonderful i feel. :)

For me, that can be dangerous. Trying to keep a tighter rein on dressing expenses ...

Natalie, this is very true for me as well. I find that not only on-line shopping helps to relieve the stress I am feeling when I cannot dress, but in-store shopping is even better, as I get to see, feel, and try on the clothes. If things are financially tight, I don't buy anything, but at least I get to go through the motions. Shopping is wonderful therapy for me.

I guess Im lucky enough to just tell my wife what I want. But usually that's just panties, leggings, nighties and am looking into getting some new dresses, skirts, heels as well.

You get a bit of a rush when acquiring a new garment.
maybe you finally find a top to match that skirt. Maybe you get an entire new outfit or two.
heck yeah it is fun to shop.
BUT - it is way more fun to shop in person. shopping online is like "blah"

It's bad enough being an incorrigible shop-a-holic, but to be a crossdressing shop-a-holic? We might as well have sold our souls to the Devil for all it's worth, as there is nothing that can save our sorry @sses when those two forces combine.
Oh, and did I mention...? - I just love shopping for women's clothes, lingerie, and shoes, and especially when en femme. There really is no other "high" that can compare...:heehee:

I do not shop for stress, I get enough of that when in the lingerie section en drab.
I have shopped when uptight and coming home and getting into female mode is relaxing.

Shopping was clearing pink fog and relieving stress during my first CD years.

This is going to be my next step. I've done the late night bars and Tri ess group meetings but now my challenge is to do the daytime shopping etc...

For millennia GG's have broken stress/anxiety/depression therapy into three levels:
Kids missed the school bus, milk's gone bad, bad hair day- Lingerie therapy (get yea to VS)
Kid got thrown off school bus, broke a heel, got yelled at by boss- Shoe therapy (Only Jimmy Choo will do)
Husband ran off with Cuban band leader, overflowing bathtub ruined entire shoe collection, got fired- Jewellery therapy (Who couldn't use a tiara?)
Men however, have broken it down into ONE level:
Team lost, wife ran off with Chippendales dancer, daughter ran off with Rosie O'Donnell, ran out of deoderant, dog is yakking up possum bones, ran out of clean underwear four days ago- Beer therapy (It's not just for breakfast anymore!)

It used to be that way for me until I came out to my wife.
Now we go shopping all the time, but the only time I really buy anything is if I need something for an outfit for an occasion. Guess I've gotten more frugal since I started running out of closet space...lol.

No, I'd rather shop in person, too many items I've ordered online didn't fit when I got them, especially shoes. :)

A number of years ago I found my on line fem purchases were directly proportional to my stress levels. Now, I'm so relaxed about my activities, being retired and able to be en femme frequently, that I still buy a lot of stuff. Right now I'm banging on the keyboard, watching the Super Bowl, and bidding on eBay. Only six minutes to bidding is over.

Ditto. There are other things we need more than new clothes for me. So I'm not buying anything new these days, and looking for nice stuff under $5 at my favorite consignment store. If I was rich, I'd be shopping a lot more!

I buy all my stuff online for my wife. When she is not around I try it on and take pics. It's easier that way to shop rather than going out in public. Not many lingerie stores out there anymore. Regular clothes, I just started to try wearing from time to time.

I ask addvice from others, online or large department stores where they just ring the item up never ask questions, the odd look sometimes, never at the check too long for comments.

Even more exhilarating, is actually going out and shopping in stores. I've actually gotten pretty good at shopping in Women's departments, the more I do it. I'm still a little uncomfortable, especially in the Lingerie section when it's , not before Christmas or not before Valentines Day but most of the time it's like anything else in this life, "you just gots to make it seem like you belong there".

A little digression but humorous. The first time I bought a bra in a department store the lady at the cash took it out of the box to check the size. She looked at me and said 'women are terrible. They pull stuff out and put it back in the wrong box. Big smile. Not trying to embarrass me. Just said 'enjoy!' I hope she's running the company by now!
