I came home from work, and found my wife was watching something interesting. My...wife....was watching RuPaul's Drag Race. ROFL! I will say something now that will make you all laugh at me. I had no idea about the show. Well, I knew it was some sort of run way thing, but didn't know it was a show. I knew who RuPaul was, but never....never watched anything from him.
Ok, all the laughs out? Ok, let's move on. I'm sure lots of people have commented on the show, but I felt a direct connection with a few people on the show. Some seem like me, and even hit me when a few showed pictures of their children. Ru is really a great guy, and I actually got into it! I could see myself doing something like this for sure, but I don't look half as good as most of them on the show. HECK, I can think of plenty of girls on here that would have no problem winning something for their efforts. Most of you ladies are not just ladies, you are forms of art! It's so nice to see others like us who can be so artistic with our little....extra talent. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, watch it. It makes us laugh together, and my wife always jokes with me about Jessica when we watch. Neat little idea to hang out.....

That's cool! I'm aware of the show, but haven't seen it. Don't even know what channel it's on.

I have caught parts of it here and there and to be honest, it left me with mixed feelings. It's great that one of the prettiest CD's has her own show but I wonder if it's tongue in cheek wit is doing us justice or an injustice by being on the air.

There is a club in St Louis that has a watch night one night a week. It gets packed. While I enjoy drag queens on occasion, I don't directly identify with them. Basicly the difference is Queens spoof or exagerate female characteristics while CDs do their best to emulate. (no judgment here) I do like to perform Karaoke when dressed, keep working on a fem singing voice. I do get lots of complements doing Elton John when dressed though. lol
Anyway, the important thing.......so great if gives you guys an opening to have casual chat about jessica :)

Ru did have another show on logo as well called Drag U.. where the drag queens took GG's who needed a little help in style and confidence and made them over and they did a different kind of runway show..

I don't have cable, but I've seen several episodes on Netflix download, lots of fun. My favorite episode was when the "girls" had to make over some straight guys who don't dress. One of them turned out fabulous, and you could tell that he was going to be dressing up on his own after that.

It is interesting to see the competitiveness of DQ's on the drag race compared to those in a show where everyone is part of a team and cooperation and help between the girls is needed.

I have never seen it and maybe one day I will. In the meantime I am doing fine without it.

I have watched little bits of it, but I can't get into those scripted "reality" shows. I got nothing from it.
Once in a great while you will find some real documentaries on crossdressers and transexuals. Those I watch.

And here I thought I was the only one who thought they were scripted. I watch a little of the show from time to time but the actors all seem too phony. But then again they all seem to really be able to impersonate women.

Way too much drama. Way too outrageous. Way over the top. And yet, I have watched it, just like watching a train wreck. Here in Denver several of the past contestants come to town and people flock to see them. Me? I would rather have a root canal

I watched it once or twice it was way to much. I did watch Greys Anatomy last night it had a TS couple on it that was really well done. Did a great job of expressing how we feel.

I also have mixed feelings about it. I feel it could so much more positive for the CD/TV/TG community, but the show has become nothing more than a circus of drama queens playing "let's see who can whine, bitch, and moan the most...while stabbing everybody else in the back". Sorry, but not my cup of tea. Drag U is much more watchable.
It is the same reason I quit watching Survivor after the first 9 or 10 seasons...too many self-centered, self-indulgent, whiny, the-world-revolves-around-ME types.

It has to be over 40 years ago, when I was in Viet-Nam; I went to Australia for R&R.
We where in Sydney, and I went with some guys to this GO-GO night club. Little did we know
that all the "Girls" where Drag Queens. WOW!!! I bet most real GG wished they look that good.
I left the place because the "Bunch" could not stand being fooled like that. I returned the next
day by myself. and guess what, 2 of the group where already there.

My wife and I watch RuPauls show too....lots of Campiness, but not a bad show...we need a show that profiles us in everyday life, showing us in reality, living our lives.and telling our stories. The public needs to be taught that we are as normal as everyone else and that we deserve our rights as well!!!
