Last night, my GGF and I stayed home in the snow and watched all our favorite Friday night Bride shows on TLC (Say Yes to the dress, 4 weddings and Something Borrowed, Something New). I was longing for my own gown. I asked if I could slip into mine. She said of course I could! So, I spent the whole night in my satin bliss. I even slept in it! Still wearing it, 12 hours later. I think this will have to be a Friday tradition! Love my GGF!

Funny, I have probably spent 10 times the time in this gown as the original bride who owned it :heehee:

I bet there's not many CDers that have their own wedding dress.

You should not sleep in your bridal gown you may crush it or crease it.
You may even get lost in it.
To Maria,
I think you should take a survey on that one.
I have three, not much use for them apart for dressing up, photography, weddings etc.

I Do envy you, I wish I had a gown to wear. My wife told me to get one, but when I
saw what a special order gown would cost; well there are other things that are needed first.

Actually, u r may be the first person, dresser and/or GG, I've heard of who slept in their wedding gown!

(NOT including the ladies who passed out on their wedding nites!)

What a sweet night, BB! :) Yes, do remind your GGF how special she is as frequently as possible!

More than you might think, Maria. And there's probably also a great many that would like to have their own wedding dress. I'm in that category. I'd love to do the full outfit, veil, crinolines, shoes and everything, and be a blushing bride. :daydreaming:

I'm in the same boat, Rader. Plus-size wedding gowns don't come cheap. Ah well, I may yet win the lottery...

Indeed, Sherry. Some GG brides don't even wait until the evening to ditch the gown, but switch to a traveling outfit for departure on the honeymoon, or even for the reception. In any event, BB probably needs some pretty bridal lingerie to complement that gown. ;)

I tried on a bridal gown at a thrift store last week. Too small. One of the gowns was marked $99. There was a tag showing the retail price had been $999!

Lucky me I have a short wedding dress in my secret stash. Of course...it doesn't get a lot of use. I bought it at a thrift store last Halloween.

While I wouldn't sleep in my wifes, she has allowed me to do photo shoots in it. Had heaps of fun with the sight seers and joggers running around one of Aucklands monuments. Been using the photo as title to my blog. Wish I had a CD groom for the shoot

Hi,
Its not very ornate, so it was easy to sleep in (not the one in my avatar) The official tally: 27 Hours. Not including the hour or so I went out to shovel. Wow. She told me I could wear it around the house when ever I wanted.

I was really surprised, but they can be purchaced on eBay for a lot less than I thought (like less than $100). In fact, I've acquired 3 in the last 6 months. I will say that you need to be flexible in what style is acceptable and patient enough to find one that is not too expensive. While not necessarily common, I've seen them up to size 26

I was lucky enough to find one on craigslist and love it. Put a full crinoline under it and fantasize how it would feel going down the aisle. Then the reception and finally the honeymoon.

A slightly tipsy CD in a wedding dress shows up at the front desk of a hotel, with an equally drunk man she had just met.
'We'd like a suite for the night please'.
'Bridal?'replied the concierge.
'No, I'll just hold onto his ears til I get used to it!'.
