View Full Version : One piece of advice

The most overwhelming advice that is given to those who are exploring their place is "If you don't need to transition, don't". That is a topic for another thread.

Keeping it simple and to the point, no reasons why, or justifying the advice, give ONE piece of advice/wisdom you want to pass on to those who are up and coming.

Mine is "There is no try before you buy"

Whats yours?

otherwise, try to focus on one thing...your quality of life...and what you can do to improve it..

Fear is a prison that poisons the mind and kills the spirit. Work past your fear and a world of possibilities and potential shall open up before you. Live life . . . .

Or so I'm learning . . . .

A good therapist can't give you answers; rather, they help you find your own truth.

Start hair removal right away, even if you don't eventually transition. There's nothing wrong with being a man without a beard.

The best way to learn is by watching, listening and READING... Not by talking, or endlessly pushing buttons on some electronic gizmo.

Do not concentrate on naming what you are, or on analyzing how you got this way: concentrate on how you want to live.

Lookup the meaning of the word: Persevere. This leads to anything that you can grasp, education, employment, respect , love or any goal that you may have, whether you transition or not.

On threads where a poster asks about reactions to hormones and medication I always seem to come up with the same mantra so, although not advice per se

"One size does not fit all"

is an adage well worth remembering

Be the ball.

No seriously, someone much smarter than I said that "trans people are like snowflakes, when you've seen one, you've seen one." Listen to what others have to say, take what is useful to heart and dump the garbage, but ultimately you have to figure out what works for YOU.

Set an achievable goal in life, when you get there, set another one.
