Help with finding a therapist

I decided its time to seek out some help. How do I find a therapist? Any good resources available for finding one? What do I need to look for in one? This is where it all starts for me and I would love some of your help here if ya could please.

I have used the psychology today website, you can specify gender, type, location, whether they have transgender experience, etc. Also, if you have insurance, they may be able to help you find someone. A couple other things you can do, ask your primary care doc, they may be able to help, and check your area for Transgender support groups. Good luck to you.............Stephanie

I feel worn out already lol. I have some #'s and im going to call them tomorrow. I just need to talk to them to see if they might work. Ill keep yall posted... If anyone has any suggestions please dont let me stop ya. I would love to hear what yall have to say. I know im facing a long road i would greatly appreciate any and all help along the way.

You don't say where in Louisiana you live but if you are near a big city or a major college this will greatly help with your search for a therapist.

I live in lake charles la. Little city. My bigger problem is where i work. I always travel. Im in corpus christi tx now and will be here 2-3 more months.

With your traveling, an online therapist may be right for you. There are several who specialize in transgender patients, and I have heard good things about some though I can't remember any names. My therapist does online, but only for her established patients that she has meet in person............................Stephanie
