As I was finishing up dressing, I put a belt around my waist. I picked it up, flipped it around, and put it on.

Now, I have always gone around to the left to put my boy-belt on... it is subconscious.

And ever since i started crossdressing over 25 years ago, I always put my girl belt on the opposite way. I did this because it felt a little odd, and I liked that feeling as it seemed to being a token of differentness, noticable.

So today, I'm pulling on the belt, and as I buckled it, I realized i had not checked to make sure of the orientation... But it was going the opposite way of my boy belts, and then I remembered flipping it around to the correct girl-direction before putting it on.

The product of this is that i did it totally subconsciously!! What a great feeling, a great way to start the day!

Now that you mention it, I've always known about the opposite zippers and stuff on male and female clothing, but never thought about a proper direction of the belt one way or the other. I'm wearing a denim skirt right now with the belt started in the left side and looped all the way through so the tail end sticks out to my left. I always wear belts this way because I am left handed and always found them more natural that way. So am I doing it gender correct? Maybe I've been wearing it like a girl my whole life and never knew.

Gonna go look at fashion pics now...

Cheers,

Kalista

I always do it automatically as per mode. Hell, I've had enough practice at this (about 53 years) where I really don't have to think about it.:heehee::)

Hmmmm all of the outfits I have purchased that came with a belt are done the same way as I have always put on a belt. Starting by going around to the left. They were that way in the store. I did not know girls did it the other way.

Nobody ever picks me, but being a sloppy dresser I put my belt on either way.
When it is obvious that the top of the belt needs orientation does it get consciously put on correctly.
Usually I go around to the right and have done all my life.

I have always put my belt on starting on the right.

This post led me to go check my belts. Alot of them have logos (Guess, R Lauren). There seems to be no right or wrong (or left) to them. Asked my wife, and she puts
hers on the same way as I have all my life. Them I googled it. Apperantly womens belts go the same way as mens. All my jeans are womens, and they zip and button about 50/50 left or right. All my shirts and blouses button the same way. Conclusion- Shirts have a male, or female orientation, other clothes do not. My 0.02 cents.

Glad I'm not the only one putting my girl belt on differently to my boy mode. :)

However, I have to admit that I am always conscious of doing so, a kind of deliberate act in contravention of my 'Bob mode' method.

I put all my belts in the same direction. Why should I discriminate?

Being right handed, going to the left is natural. But since I've purchased a few women's belts I became a bit confused of which direction they go.

Thanks for researching this Celeste, but I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't a girl way to wear a belt. That is one less thing I could possibly use to feel more feminine. Also would have been a stealthy thing to do in guy mode.

Hmm, interesting. All my belts, whether men's or women's, go to the same direction, i.e., to my left. My men's belts with the buckles have either letters or patterns which show that the end of the belts should go to my left. Thus, I wear all my belts, including for my men's trousers and for my skirts, in the same direction.
