The wife is out of town a few days so I have had time to dress and went out shopping yesterday for a bit. While I do not pass in an up close encounter, it does seem that I can go into a store and go about my business without drawing a unwanted attention. At least there have been no screams and panic from anyone who made me as a crossdresser.
So yesterday I got up and got dressed in jeans and a nice top, make up and wig; gathered my purse and headed out to a nearby town. I went first to a large grocery store and picked up a few items for the house then went to the make up dept for a few items. They have a small clothing dept there so I went to see what they had. I found a really nice top that I fell in love with and it was at a good price so I put in in my cart. I went to check out at the self check out and that went well until I paid. I used cash for my purchase and change is usually dispensed at the checkout. But, this time a message on the screen told me to get my change from the attendant. I looked around and the attendant was a 20 something yr old guy. I almost panicked because I was trying avoid personal contact, but I need my change (about $10) so I gathered my stuff and went to his location. He was very nice, not really paying much attention to me personally but gave me my change and said thank you maam. I was a little apprehensive and could feel my face flushing a bit but it turned out fine.
Wow, when I got to my truck I was feeling relaxed again and decided to do a quick change into my new top.
From there I went to Burlington's. It was pretty busy, lots of women shopping! I was wanting a pair of slacks to wear on occasion and went to the Petites and browsed the racks and found what I wanted. I also found a new bra. Having made my selections I went to the check out. As I waited my turn, there was a young lady working at one register and a man at the other. I was hoping the young lady would finish first, thinking she would likely be more accepting of a CD. But, the man finished his customer first, so to the register I went. I was a little nervous but he began talking to me, being friendly, taking care of business. I completed my purchase, took my change and he said "Have a nice day Maam!" I felt good and thanked him.
Now off the Kohl's! I wanted to look at some new undergarmets and went in and straight to the lingerie. I found what I was looking for and made my selection. I then began checking out the bra selection. I was intrigued by a push up bra that looked promising for making cleavage. I didn't want to buy without trying it out so off the the change room! I was disappointed that it did not help as much as I thought it might ( I don't have a lot of chest flesh). But that was the first time I had ever tried a bra on in the store. I continued shopping and didn't find anything else I had to have and off I went to the check out. I laid back and waited for the older lady customer at the check out to finish then went to make my purchase. The young lady knew right off that I was CD but was very nice and friendly.

After leaving Kohl's I decided walk around a bit just to spend time as Molly on a pretty day. I was walking the sidewalk in the shopping center. As I was walking beside a low curb height planter I stumbled on something and started falling over into the planter! I was able to take several stumbling, falling steps across the planter and was able to catch myself and not fall into the middle of the planter and go sprawling across the ground. Whew! I had visions of broken bones, cuts and scrape, emergency room...and more!
After regrouping I went to Target. I just roamed a bit and looked at shoes and clothes, no purchase.
Next it was off to get a bite to eat. I decided to get a burger and debated going in to eat but it was really busy and I needed to be heading back home so I went the drive thru. The young lady at the window gave me a funny look then smiled as she gave me my change. I had to pull to the side while they got my order ready. When the young man brought it out he was friendly and said thanks maam, have a great rest of you day!

All in all and good and eventful day! Got the things I was after and spent about 6hrs out as Molly!

I will be going out again tonight to Houston. Anybody in the area want to meet up and chat over dinner or coffee?

Hugs,
Molly

PS. I know I would never do these things without the support and encouragement found here on these forums! Thanks all for being here!

I'm glad you had such a great day Molly. It's always fun to get out and what beats a day of shopping?

This seems to be the case for most of us. I've only ever got that panicked 'scream' once in being out many times. It was uncomfortable but you get over it (since it's really their problem not yours), get back out there, and continue having fun.

Good luck and keep having fun out there!
