Hate to tell you, there are still places where being found crossdressed might get you killed. It may be against the law, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen any more. And if a police officer thinks you're wearing woman's clothing as a disguise, and they're searching for someone who's just commited a crime who fits your physical body build, there's a chance that you will go to jail anyway, until you can prove you weren't the one who did it. Sure, you may be able to sue them for violating some civil rights law, but you still will have been put in jail.

You are absolutly right Lexi. While many states have laws protecting CDers, the power of discretion rests with the arresting officer. If the officer is a bigot, he can stop and haul you in on the smallest pretense. A presecutor might not press charges or the presiding judge/magistrate may throw out the charges but by that time, the damage is done and your prints and picture are on file.

My advice is stay away from small towns, fly under the radar and be a very peaceful citizen.
