If this has been done before, I apologize, but I was wondering what books you have read on the subject of TG/CD or divergent mental/cultural states (whatever you want to call it.)

I recently read The Riddle of Gender, by Deborah Rudacille, and found it to be very informative. I am currently on The Other Side of Normal by Jordan Smoller (not really about all of this, but there are some really cool ideas that could easily apply.

Do you have a favorite? Did the book help or just bring up more questions?

Great book I have is Different Loving-the world of sexual dominance and submission. It of course covers the entire TG spectrum, and many other unusual sexual activities and practices like corsetting, head trips
and roleplaying, ageplay as a few examples.
Book is well written and informative and goes into the history of it even dating back to antiquity.

I'd say after reading it,it gave me a somewhat clearer sense of who I am.

I was able to do extended "research" through banned books in a library as part of a film censorship course.
This was to gauge what was acceptable and what was not acceptable to show film audiences.
Films had different sets of morals and were classified for specific areas.
What was acceptable in Chicago and NY was not acceptable in the bible belt.
Double beds came much later in some areas as they were not acceptable socially.
We all know that Fred Flintstone and Wilma were one of the first couples to share a double bed on film.
I digress, there were a lot of books on cross dressing, a very dark subject then.

'Gender outlaws', is a classic text read in most university gender studies courses. It's really the politics of gender, and written from a mostly gay perspective. It was left wing for it's time, but a little dated now.
