I am a late starter and have only been dressing for the last 10 years or so, my darling wife knows about it and even though not very keen she allows me to dress up to 5 days a week and helps me buying things I need from suspenders to clothes and shoes, my question is , How many girls dress in "stereo type " women's clothes
In my opinion , jeans are male clothes ( Mr Levi, made them as a sturdy type of male working clothes) , a suit is male clothes , shorts to , boots were male working shoes , I personally will not wear them at all , part of my argument when telling my wife about my feelings was " if it's ok for females to wear males clothes then why can't I not wear female clothes " Please give me your opinion about this

If you mean things like dresses, petticoats, pantyhose, etc. Then I like stereo type womens clothes. I have not had any interest in wearing womens jeans, or other clothes that both men and women can wear.

Didn't you get the memo from society about this? I still have my copy. It reads: "Hi Queer! You are a F----t, and we are going to kick the living s--t out of you after school. Have a nice day!" Mine had a smiley face drawn on it, and for some reason, a crude drawing of someone's junk. Society delivered on its promise, by the way.

Seriously - there is no logical reason for this. It's entirely arbitrary, but no less real for that.

I dress in all styles of "women's" clothes, from skirts and tops, to slacks and jeans, shorts, blazers, golf shoes, golf outfits, and pajamas. I like women in jeans much more than men, so I like the tighter fit I can get on my very skinny legs. Definitely not so manly to me. to each their own.

I only wear dresses and heels en femme -- I can wear pants and clunky shoes anytime as my male self ;)

'Male' work wear developed in an era when women didn't go into or were actively excluded from 'male' occupations, particularly heavy industry. That changed during the twentieth century, hastened by women being drafted into industrial jobs during the two world wars. As a result, women started wear 'male' work wear out of pure practicality and necessity. A lot of the clothing we regard as typically 'male' is, in fact, just 'work wear' that happened to be worn in jobs that had once been typically carried out exclusively by men. In the twenty-first century, all sorts of once 'specialist' clothing (work wear, sports wear, outdoor gear) has been appropriated for everyday wear by all genders.

Men do still have their suits and we have our dresses and skirts etc. as gender specific or stereotypical clothing – and long may it continue! I stopped buying all that dull stuff in the men's departments years ago but I do, nevertheless, still buy and wear plenty that might be described as androgynous or gender neutral for one simple reason – practicality.

GGs that typically wear "girly" gear usually fall into a couple of categories:
1. teenage girls
2. going out on the town...on the prowl...lol
3. going out to catch a man...again lol
4. going to a dressy function.
5. showing off our sexyness to our partner, SO, or mate...again enticement lol
6. going out w the girls......for fun

beginning to see a theme here??????

when GGs get married and have children or do things around that house we donn male gear or comfies.....we dress in femme clothes when we want to feel sexy and don't have to worry about our skirts flying up and exposing our panties....lol

I have absolutely no problem with guys wearing girl gear. Some guys make very beautiful women!!!! People just have issues w thing that don't fit into their paradymes...that is their problem....march to beat of your own drum.....fly your flag with pride!!!!!

I am different.
I use to want to wear in Very feminine clothes.
Now I almost do not care I just want to feel like I have a female body.
I wear attached forms, corset and control top panties. When I dress in these it changes my walk.
If I am wearing them I feel female.

I like gg jeans and when they fit nice(Tucked well) I feel very feminine.

I guess I have chnaged ... am I the only one?

Hi.

Does the fabic make any difference. or is this about shape & what fits a male body compared to a female body, our body shape is quite different,

So what your saying is if the clothes that are made for men women should not wear them, yet if they do men should be able to wear womens clothes,

Is your body shape like a woman, do you have breasts so that the blouse fits as it should say breasts 41 in's , waist line 35 in's, & hips 39 in's..

or a more striaght up & down like many males, you see male clothes dont fit us they need to be bigger in size & hang, = ( our breasts ) & i mean real ones, as to hips well many of us women have wider hips, so does the same apply no because clothes were made to fit us & not men , of cause you then need to get 2 or 3 size's bigger, remember we dont all come in the same size as youll see by my mesurments,

Why do men wont to wear our clothes many reasons it appears though i dont belive its just about the clothes its to be like us in dress makeup shoes & all it intail's , yet its about the glamour of being like a woman with out being one , no resposablity, no haveing children most men would not any way, so there are a few differences,

We reinact the Renaissance time 1400 to 1700 many different clothes from our past yet men & women wore dress's & skirts of different colours plus head wear,

My background is Prussian so im heading into those styles ( German ) so if you look at our men some 100 & more all dressed in dress's of different backgrounds its really lovely & to see our men its really neat, , most of us women make our own outfits & some are really neat,

Women had pants long before the 1900 's called bloomers, what about swim wear, you see we did have other clothes, did men wear them a few did, did it look right , ill leave that up to you,

Hi Beam, The more feminine the clothes the better I like them.

You're right, women can wear clothes of both genders and everyone is accepting, but not true for men. Women know this but they don't like to see men in "their" clothes. Designers, Mr. Levi and women have changed boots, jeans, belts, shirts to be feminine and show off that feminine figure with all it's curves. Jeans are boot cut to go with female dress boots, the pockets are embelished with rhinestones and glitter, and the jeans fit that curvy body like they were painted on, and they look very, very good on a woman. So don't let wearing some of these "once male clothing that they have been converted to female clothing" stop you from wearing them, they will probially look good on you too.

..........In my opinion , jeans are male clothes ........

I've seen some very feminine jeans and I've seen some pretty hot chicks wearing them. But, you are entitled to your opinion even though many would disagree with you.

" if it's ok for females to wear males clothes then why can't I not wear female clothes " ........

That's a very tired argument. It's been around forever. You can wear pretty much any clotes you want as long as your private parts are covered, but your choice in clothes could affect how people feel about you, your family and loved ones, and your job and ability to support yourself and your family.

Before you decide to go to work in a pink miniskirt, think long and hard about the consequences.

For many years there has been a double clothing standard as to who should wear what. Both Western society and fashion have dictated and drew lines as to what is the proper attire for each gender. Sadly clothing is not, in this era, judged on comfort or practicality for any individual, but rather who it is designed for. Women can always "barrow" from the guy side, and look cute and fashionable, but if a guy chooses to wear anything feminine, he is classified, tagged, and ridiculed by society. IMO, the individual should always be comfortable and confident in whatever they choose to wear!

That stereo type went out with the 50's, and even earlier really.

Trouser's and jeans are no longer consider typically male clothes. Therefore the argument is untenable.

Personally, however, I never wear ladies genes or trousers.

That is a hoary old argument, society tells us what is acceptable to wear and we all conform to the norm.

Only radicals and beatniks cross the line.

If it is branded for women I will wear it.
No arguments or reasoning from me.

While i love wearing skirts and dresses I wear women's pants regardless of style or cut -- jeans, leggings, yoga pants etc etc when appropriate -- as long as its women's pants i don't care.

One thing we don't take kindly to here is whining about "why can they..." In fact it is looked upon as being in very bad taste.

Fact: You can wear whatever you want to wear. You are the one who makes that decision. Do it long enough and with enough confidence and you can be a trend setter.

Fact: Your idea of who gets what went out 50 years ago. Stereotypic dressing has gone the way of the dodo

Fact: men are the main reason you feel you have a disadvantage. They are the ones who made your fashion rules that you seem to want to follow.

Fact: women chose to wear what they wear not for sexual purposes or because they felt some sort of gender dysphoria. They chose to wear it fro comfort and practicality. If you can convince your SO that comfort and practicality is the reason you dress, then you should dress. I think you may find that they won't agree with your stance though.
No more whining about who gets what in life. Especially here

PS even though you don't have many posts you have been a member here for 5 years, you know the first rule of the forum....don't bitch about how you feel you got the short stick. The they can I can't argument has been beaten to death

I personally think a man in a nice kilt is very sexy....Kilt: another form of a skirt made for men.....been around a long time in the highlands....I Don't see anyone making fun of a bloke in a kilt...they would take you back and give you a good beating and go have a glass of guiness or stout
...lol..... just saying..

Several years ago, Levi Strauss & Co. declared that they prefer their products be considered the casual wear of the upwardly mobile, and not as work clothing. Seriously! I wear jeans and slacks often when out by day, as that is what the GG's are wearing. And I love highheeled boots! I seek to "blend", as I can't really "pass". Wear whatever YOU want to wear, it's entirely up to you. However, if you are going out, I'd recommend reading a few of the "Pass/Blend" threads here. Just my $0.02.

Sherry IS a female stereotype!

As far as telling GGs what they should and shouldn't wear? GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!

I only remember 2 things about GGs and their clothes:

1. I'm expected to pay for them.
2. And, the correct answer to, "Does this make me look fat?"

(The answer to #2? Fake a; heart attack, diarhea attack, stomach flu, dizzy spell, or for those really talented guys out there, simply faint dead away!)
