I just bought a silk dress on Ebay and love the feel of the material but I was surprised but two things: 1) it wrinkles really easily and 2) it's noisy! Somehow the material is either rubbing on the lining or maybe my arms are rubbing it as I walk, but there is a real "swishing" sound with every step. Surprising.

Just buck up and enjoy it. Silk dresses with stockings and heels, what could be finner. Been there and I will bet that each and ever girl on here loves it.

Jennifer,
Just get used to the noise, it must be a new phenomenon for you.
Nylon and rayon have made noises for years.
They also feature static electricity.

Warning Warning Warning! Do not get a stain on silk.
If you do you’ve had it!
I got a tea stain on a pair of silk panties [don’t ask] and you can’t get it out.

did you try white vinegar?

Yes and it turned the silk from white to yellow.

But thank you Megan.

but don't you love the sound of it when you walk?? Nothing quite so nice as the rustle of silk and satin

Love those swooshing sounds. So did George. Enjoy

Well, #1 is a problem (especially since silk is really hard to iron, too), but a "swish" sound as you walk...I fail to see a downside here. That's like the ultimate reminder that you are not only a lady, but a very well-dressed one! :)
