and my boss starts a video conference with me... I have my bombshell bra and a purple lace edged top, and short shorts, i'm like WTF... Toss on a bathrobe answer video chat and he's giving me his exit speech, meanwhile i'm sweating like a pig, for an hour and at the end of the call, he's like, "that's an interesting top your wearing by the way. Don't worry, I'll take the secret with me"
the only plus is today is his last day.
so now i'm analyzing this, I really don't think it was intentional, I haven't been able to dress up in about a week or so, I suppose I could have not answered, but I knew he was leaving... so was it intentional, i thought I was covered up pretty good in the bathrobe, and moved the camera up so he could only see my face.

That's why I refuse to own one of those things.A girl gets little enough privacy these days.Well, let's hope he keeps his word.

Probably the pink bathrobe might have tipped him off?

I Soo hate that one of our requirements for our telecommuters is to be available via web cam whenever, since our team is all over the country and overseas its better than having to move. It is however a big drag no pun intended to not be able to dress up.
@jaryn, I don't know how to apply it so no fear there... Yet...
@almost, I used to have it taped up and was like my laptop is closed, but I guess they want to make sure no one has too many outside distractions....
@karren, close its a girlie plaid, at least it wasn't my zebra slanket :-)

Were there any reflective surfaces close by?

Wow, that was quite a parting revelation! I guess your robe didn't quite cover as much as you'd hoped!

Could have been worse - you could have been wearing one of those "Snuggies" when the boss called. The leopard animal print version is especially fetching... :heehee:

Good save, Jenn. Had some close calls this week too.
Lesson to be alert, and think on your feet..

Jenni,
All I can say is, we sometimes fall in a hole and when it caves in, we have to dig ourselves out.

Why worry, he said that he wouldn't say anything and like most us, we have been caught at one time or another.

I am sure he thought the i"interesting top" was your bathrobe and the comment was more about you lying around in a bathrobe during company hours. If he saw your lace top I am sure you would have gotten WTF are you wearing instead of interesting top.

I have a piece of tape covering the lens on the laptop/desktop monitor.
Boss, "Hey, I can't see your face '(or "nice top")'!
Jennialy, "Hmmm, I'll try to reboot, give me a couple of minutes", as she rushes to the bedroom rapidly throwing "nice tops" everywhere and looking for a nice guy top.

Toss on a bathrobe answer video chat and he's giving me his exit speech, meanwhile...I think he was coming-on to you. That just popped into my mind when reading your lil vignette. Gross as that is (since he's a male), still, maybe it's actually a compliment to you. Sounds like you sure deserve it (being complimented, that is). ;)

...uh, well... is it normal to go to work wearing a bathrobe? That's what he was commenting on...

...is it normal to go to work wearing a bathrobe?
I am assuming Jennialy is working from home. Some offsite workers wear a bathrobe covering up their lingerie and some offsite workers put on a suit and tie (if male) and try to approximate an office environment.
This is one of the problems with working offsite, the boss can't enforce a dress code (Corinne, where are you?).

Interesting replies... Maybe he just meant my bathrobe, I doubt he. Was coming on to me, he lives on the other side of the country. Now I'm wondering...
