I recently set up an account for my femme side on LiveJournal, giving me somewhere to document my progress as Emily. I'm being totally open and honest on it about who I am and I'm quite intrigued to see where it might lead.
This is something I never would have done a year or so ago for fear of being found out, but I figured since I'm now out to all of the most important people in my life, why not go for it? I'm hoping that someday I might build up some kind of online persona so that I might educate people and maybe make some new friends along the way.
On a related note, I also set up a twitter account (@ebartonfire) and linked it with my LJ. Today I interacted with Jessica Who on there (hi!), who I should say has played no small part in inspiring my desire to put myself out there a bit more than on just this forum. I'm a massive fan of her YT channel and everything that she does for our community.
So, does anyone else here have a LiveJournal account? If so, what have your experiences been with it? The link for mine is in my sig - feel free to check it out! :)

Hi Emily!!
While I don't have a LiveJournal I do have a Wordpress blog and I can't even begin to describe how much blogging has helped me in my journey. Writing is so cathartic and it can help us to sort out our feelings. It also helps when others interact with us on the blog and show support. I wish you luck with it and hope you keep going :)

Hi Emily,
I recently started one myself on Weebly but haven't put it up here yet. I'll keep an eye on yours though and I hope it helps you and brings you knew friends.

The process of writing down my thoughts is something that I've already found really cathartic, just for the few days that I've had the space to do so. LiveJournal has privacy settings too so if I ever wanted to have a rant or throw down some feelings on a page without anyone else seeing it I can just by setting it to 'private'. I haven't had to use this yet, but it's nice knowing it's there should things get difficult!
Amy, I had a look at the blog link in your signature and I really enjoyed reading what you've shared so far!

Emily,
I can only say I was shocked and horrified by what I read on your LiveJournal. How could you?..........Mathematics?! This is due to my feelings of failure from school when the maths teacher said that something he was showing was easy.
Well it is.........if you have a degree in it! :heehee:
I completed my degree in law aged 47, whilst working in IT....figure that one out. :battingeyelashes:
Really nice avatar by the way.....extremely femme look.

Haha! This really made me smile - sometimes I do wonder if I was completely mad to choose maths as my degree... but then I do find it interesting *most* of the time, just not when it comes to revising for exams! Thanks for the kind words :)

Another place you could do it is here.
The writers forum cuold be a good place to start.
Others may have better suggestions.

I was impressed with your journal, and hope to see updates?
As to maths, it's easier than english and a lot more fun to teach.
With a maths head and hot looks, that's what I would call the X factor.
Actually I do brunch with a maths head and hot body nearly every week (I should call it "the Brit Club Brunch")

This process can be a journey and writing is the best way to express oneself. It helps take the jumbled thoughts out of our head and put (somewhat) cohenently on "paper".

Hi, Emily, from another tranny mathematician!
Getting a maths or science degree is hard work, but it'll make the rest of your life easier :).

Hi, Emily, from another tranny mathematician!
Hi from another! I wonder what kind of mathematics you ladies do? Most recently, my research has been into complex networks.
