I like many others have felt the pain of wondering where I fit. Before the internet and this site we searched for answers and support wherever we could. I especially felt lost and alone growing up in the 60's through the early '90's. In those years I envied women for how they could dress and express themselves. It's all different now. In 1979 ABBA released this song. Today I look back and think how the lyrics can be very inspirational for those of us who are CD, TG, TS, or however we define ourselves. The lyrics say a lot:
We have a dream, coping with anything, I believe in the angels here, there's something good in everything we see, the time is right, there may be a destination, and some cross the street. Make of it what you will. I come close to crying when I hear it.

This site is definitely a plus in finding where one fits in the CD mode. ABBA had several good songs...

What a beautiful song, Cheryl my sister. We are all dreamers...and some of our dreams become realities...and some of our realities become dreams. :)

's an attest to that! in the 80's I dressed in sisters clothes (thought I was only person) then went off to college, found libraries of homosexual books and crossdressers. this actually taught me my desires were not isolated ones! then in the late 90's libraries started getting internet and I would read crossdressing stories, and early forum sites this.

Today it's amazing the warmth and acceptance I can feel not only with my wife, and some family, but with my wonderful sisters here! We can't help who we are. We just are! We're not hurting anyone so let's embrace it! We of course want to spare any embarassment for our SO's and family, and that's understandable. So what's the big deal if any of us wish to wear female clothing or present ourselves as women?! No crime has been committed! If anything, we present another side of ourselves that is softer than a macho facade and is part of the essence of our core being. Many of us have supporting spouses, and that's a good thing. And many of us realize that our spouses deserve a lot of appreciation to accept us the way we are. In that realm, we also know how to appreciate them, make their lives the best that they can be, and do for them in return what they do for us.
In those "dark ages" when this song was released, many of us hid in the closet. Many of us wondered how we fit in, and many wondered if they could. Many felt lost as if on an island on their own. Today I am fully blessed to know so many people either here or in person who also share my feelings! I am not alone!

Remember when we used to live out our crossdressing dreams on Geocities? I did anyway along with many others. I had a website for years. Coincidentally, those were the years I was the most serious about my female alter ego. I've already begun to wonder if being on here will light the fire again. I find it strange that their aren't many blogs. Flickr seems to have taken over as the online home of crossdressers. In any case, I remember my website fondly. Good times.

I’ve been here for a while now, and I’m still searching… :waiting:
