Was out runing errands this afternoon and came across a little thrift store I had not seen before and decided to go in and look around. Spent about an hour looking and trying things on(the SA's were very accomadating with letting a 6'3" guy into the dressing rooms with dresses and stuff)
While I had a great time shopping, I unfortunatley only found one skirt that fit. It happens to be a cute little khaki mini skirt. I have several tops I can wear it with so I decided to go for it. Got home and changed into the skirt and a nice top and have since discovered that while I do like the skirt, I will never wear it anywhere. Just sitting at my desk, I have to keep pulling it down lest I expose my panties and forget crossing my legs... LOL
My muscles are getting sore from keeping my legs together - must sit like a lady at all times you know...
Anyway, as I sit here and giggle at myself, I thought I would share a smile and pass on a warning that, "Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as a skirt too short. "

Hugs.

Like heels that are "too high" depends on what they are used for ;)

Sounds like fun!

Have run into the same problem too...looks great in the front and reach behind to the back slit and go uh oh, this isn't going to work...fun around the house though.

Well, lesson learned, Shelby! I personally prefer my skirts at knee-length or longer. A long, flowy skirt is oh so feminine! :)

And I know that feeling when you try and sit ladylike for a long period of time...though I'm getting better at it. I can't manage the feminine leg-cross, but I do cross my ankles, which helps.

Shelby,
As long as you know when the limit is reached you will be ok.

I would say any shorter and this skirt will qualify as a belt. :)
I will keep it and wear it around the house, though.

Practice, Practice, Practice! :D

It strains my leg muscles for me to sit with my knees together: I have to force them. I also find it uncomfortable to sit with my ankles crossed, but it is less of a strain than knees together. My legs are just too thick for me to hold my knees together. Looking down from the top, the appearance is of fat there that I could stand to lose, but truth is that it is fairly firm (but not toned!) muscle so it ain't going away...

Skirts above roughly half-way to the knee give me problems. That would be long enough to be "decent" for most people, but I have this life-long habit of sitting cross-legged a lot of the time... I sit that way automatically, without even noticing what I am doing (it is easier on my back.) And that lifts the front of the skirt up so the bottom opening is facing outwards, allowing anyone to see in unless the skirt is long enough to flop over the ends of my knees when my legs are crossed...

Sittings not that hard, it's bending over you have to watch out for, I have bad knees and can't squat down nice and lady like, so I really have to watch lengths.

Yes, it may be too short to wear out but fun to wear in the house, and maybe a quick trip out to get the mail? I love such things to wear in. It's fun to be a little over the limit at times. Enjoy it! Sherrii
