I was hanging out at the mall with a bunch of my guy friends and I happened to notice a really cute dress in one of the windows. I commented on that saying, "I really like that dress." I proceeded to try and cover up my slip by adding "... you know, on a girl." They still seemed a little weirded out.

It's pretty funny to me looking back at it. I was just wondering if any of you girls have had similar slip ups?

I did with girl friends so they didn't look at me as a weirdo but last week I was at the mall with my mother looking for a bag when I told her something like "Ho mum I like this one" hopefully I added "…Don't you?"^^

I'm a professor. My students know I dress and it's a non-issue. As I began gathering everyone's attention to start class last week I noticed a coed wearing a beautifully colored top. It was a distinctive mauve with a slight hint of deep magenta. I started an automatic compliment on how much I loved that color then suddenly stopped, realizing where I was. Well, the room fell silent with my sudden pause and all eyes turned expectantly to me.

So I went ahead and said, "I love your top. I have an Ann Taylor silk top that exact same color." Well, you could have heard a pin drop. Then the girl said, "This is an Ann Taylor too. That's amazing that you know my wardrobe." I responded with, "I'm sure my face will match that color in a moment." I had just a moment of concern, then owned it and continued on with getting the class started. Nothing else was said, and no one referred to it later. It's so cool that my dressing is such a non-issue!

What I especially enjoyed is that when looking at her more closely later I realized her skin and hair coloring is very nearly identical to mine, along with the general size and shape of her body. It was great validation for me that a piece of clothing I felt good in matches what a woman with similar appearance chooses for herself.

Fun times!

I try to know when to keep my mouth shut, but yes I have done things like that a time or two. What I hate is when one of the guys ask, "how do you know that?" I've found the best answer is, how can a guy be married to a women for 40 years and not notice things like that.

Since the feel of fabrics is such a big deal to me, there have been several times where my guy friends have been with me walking through target and ill stop at a flowy dress or a silky top and feel it. They look at me weird and I just go...I just wanted to see what it felt like. It looked kind of trippy. They just roll their eyes at me and keep walking. They dont know the crossdressing side of me, but they do know I am, in general, an odd one so doing odd things makes sense lol.

That happened yesterday. I was talking to two coworkers. The guy was talking to a girl about modeling for his side biz of fashion photographer. He had ask about her breast size to pull some clothing for a shoot, and I said that she was a 34b and she said that she was a 32c. To which I replied that's the same thing. Usually guys don't know that much about bra sizes.

I sometimes sound like the worlds greatest sleaze.
I compliment outstanding girls and say I would love to photograph you on top of a rock or somewhere photogenic.
The problem is as a photographer I have an eye for the ladies to be in front of my camera.
It is like saying come over to my place and I will put you in pictures.

Just a few days ago I was talking with a lady friend of ours and noticed her nails and toes were polished with the same polish. She looks at me and says..."When my husband was alive he never noticed my nail polish....guy's just don't notice things like that!!"....we all had a laugh over it. No they don't know Susan....

What an incredibly priceless comeback! No wonder you're a professor, that was fast!

My son and I were driving through a shopping center going to a restaurant (this is before I came out to him). I looked to the left and said I didn't know there was a Coldwater Creek here. My son turned to me and said do you shop in women's cloth shops? I hesitated for a second and said oh I thought they were one of those outfitter places like REI. Nothing more was said.

I was conversing with a friend (who knows) on afternoon, when she paused to scold her puppy "get out of my clothes". Without missing a beat I replied, "if I had a nickle everytime I've heard that."
