View Full Version : Caught - not a big deal after all.

About 20 minutes ago, I placed an order for some Chinese delivery from my favorite local restaurant. - I have been home all afternoon doing stuff dressed very comfortably - capris with a sequence(sp) blouse, bra, forms and cute sandals -
Anyway, they told me it would be 45 minutes to an hour so I thought I would have plenty of time to change. 15 minutes later the delivery guy knocks on my door. I guess it's just the weather or something because my 'normal' response would have been to rush off to change pretending he caught me in the bathroom. Today, for some reason, I just opened the door and paid the young man.

He didn't even bat an eye. He handed me my order and said have a nice evening and off he went. Like it was no big deal.

You know, I guess it wasn't really a big deal after all.:)

Hugs:hugs:

Probably not a big deal to the delivery man, He is most concerned abut how good of a tip you gave him.

It's not a big deal to a delivery person...I've gone to the door often since I realized that. Why change who you are for fear of a strangers response?

sounds like a nice step in the process of finding comfort.

but really, the reason I responded to your post was because
I pictured a delivery man at the door
and me dressed up
maybe an outdated bass line playing in the background
woops, I dropped my purse!

I don't know if I would consider this "caught". One of the pluses of having an SO that knows and all that jazz is that she can answer the door for the pizza guy ;)

See Shelby its not a big deal after all Yay for you!!!
Yesterday my neighbor came home with a new pick up truck so I went over to check it out.My neighbor from down the street was walking over too.
We looked it over and chatted some I didn't think about what I was wearing at the time and there I was blue headband in my hair ( matched my blue t shirt perfectly btw ) and hoop ear rings and light mascara.
They never said a word LOL

Very cool, shelby!
You must be feeling very confident about now. If it was me, I'd have gone hungry that night!

My neighbor keeps coming over and she is really cool. First time I changed and left the dress and wig in the other room. Second time we hung out and she explored my apartment more with all the lights, Marilyn Monroe pics, fairy pics, etc.

Next time maybe full dress.....

Shelby,
he saw money in your hand and probably didn't notice anything unusual.

I've answered the door en femme many times and the delivery people don't bat an eye about it. I bet as soon as they get back to the store they talk about it, "Hey guess what I just saw"?

Keeping in mind that we each have a different outlook on this subject;

A delivery person is one thing, your family member or an inlaw would be quite another thing. My wife sometimes comments about me being seen. My answer is, I don't care as long as it's not someone I know.

And in a small town every one knows every one, and yes every one dies famous in a small town. I just don't want every one to know that I CD. Course we don't have deliveries except UPS.
