So my girlfriend loves my feminine side and also loves to go to drag shows. My question is this, why is it that the three times I have taken her to the shows it is mostly GGs that are at the shows (and what seem to be straight couples) and they realy get into the shows and the Gurls. So what is it about the t-gurls that they like and why most if not all would never except their partner as a Crossdresser. I think I can partialy anwser my own question, and that it hits too close to home...LOL! GGs input would be great, but feel free to comment! Thanks Gena.

As one who has performed en femme, I'd say it's a lot about showmanship and women in particular seem to appreciate a good impressionist and the fact that some men can freely express themselves as a woman in front of others without feeling ashamed.:)

Drag shows are entertainment. I think people go to drag shows for the same reasons they go to anything - they are interested and want to be entertained.

First, there are many women who would not go to a drag show-period. I'm sure they would puck at the sight of any man in a dress. All the time I see women hugging and cheek kissing when greeting and leaving. They are not afraid of female contact. I guess they do not feel threatened by drag queens or gays because they are not in the market for that sort of hook up.

Men? It seems the vast majority of men will shy away from any friendship or contact with a gay man. A straight guy with a woman attending the show can show he is all man and committed for at least the evening to a 'real' woman.

Can't speak for others. But, I was a straight guy with no gender issues until age 50.

For me, I liked drag/female impersonator shows back then and now, because I found/find it amazing that some men can appear to be pretty, even hot, women!

Maybe others enjoy being fooled like that, too?

Also I think women appreciate the fact that DQs lampoon cultural notions of femininity. Only CDs are insulted by that.

Dirty little secret is that gay porn is much more popular with straight and even lesbian women than you might think. My ex-GF before I got married was bi and loved gay male porn but not so much straight or lesbian porn even though she was into girls.

Drag is over the top entertainment. It is also done by strangers in a staged environment so it is non-threatening and removed from real life. You really can't compare drag to cross dressing or transsexualism.

I don't see how enjoying a drag show would automatically translate into being comfortable having a CDing partner. One's entertainment, like opera, like ballet, like many stage performances; the other's real life. Simple as that, IMO.

I guess the reason I asked was that the shows I've been to the GGs get verry frisky with the DQs and touchy feely with them. Growing up I couldn't even tell any of my GFs or they would freak out. The cool thing now is that my beautiful GF would rather see me dressed all gussied up and sexy than my male persona, which I still love. On an other note I remember several occassions when in High School or at work when it came toa guy loosing a bet or a dare, the GGs wher way to eager to dress us up in women's clothes and participating in the transformation. So I do believe that most women do enjoy the role play reversal, just go on "You Tube" and see how many women do just that. MMMM, sorry got off subject a bit!

Let me clarify, I am not sugesting that most women like crossdressing and or crossdressers, but what I am sugesting is that in a weird way most would participate and enjoy feminizing a man if just as a joke. I think they enjoy the embaracing of the feminizing of the man. As we all know it is a minute amount of women who truly like and enjoy their men in skirts and panties. Just sayin'!

There is a thing called season of license where for a certain period of time the population can do things they would not normally do. We know them as Mardi Gras and Halloween. The bachelor party is also one. When women go see Drag shows or strip shows, they feel they can do somethings they would not do otherwise. They are acting out on thing s they have to keep suppressed. In recent history, women are allowed a lot more of these and like many new CDs here they do tend to over do. They don't have to take responsibility later when the person they are objectifying is in essence something they can objectify. Another reason they are less likely to be comfortable with a TG spouse. They have to live with them after the party is over. Sort of like if you married a Playboy bunny and then had to see her as your wife later when others are around (sorry short flash back on my part)

My wife tells me that every woman wants to have a gay friend, and that to most women a guy who would wear a dress is gay. Period.
