Finally took the plunge and bought a corset on line. Paid $72 (including shipping)and got the Shaper Corset Black Satin Underbust Corset Back Lacing Waist Training Cincher SC10008. I have worn it twice for brief periods of time, but for the most part, it is not that bad. Might be a bit short and i am left to wonder what to do with the excess body mass that is being created by the corset (everything has to go somewhere, right?). I have not measured yet, but i think it is cinching my waist by at least 4" and maybe more. My wife knows about it and has said essentially nothing, but i think because of this, she wanted me to get a pair of women's jeans and dress up in a blouse, jeans and high heels. She says that would impress her. She is not that keen on my shaving my legs or chest. The link to the corset i got is below.

I have a few questions. What do you do with the excess that is created when you wear the corset?
Does anyone have an overbust corset with breast forms and if so, how does it feel?

I would accede to your wifes wishes as soon as possible.
Nothing like assisting your wife and gaining her interest,
As for corsets I wear them as a costume only.
I am lucky I don't need too much body shaping.

Very nice. My SO and i are both into corsets and wear them often either as outerwear or underneath as shape wear.

Do you meen a sort of bulging of your body above the corset?

I love corsets, only got one atm but it feels great and goes with a lot of what I wear. I don't know what the shipping is like but Google Corsets-UK, that's the best and cheapest site for corsets I've seen and they have constant sales and offers
My wife and I both love corsets. I have two or three, she has a closet full ;)
Nether of us is a fan of overbust corsets; they just flatten her bust line (she's a 38F) and make her look much heavier, and I don't think they are at all attractive with breast forms in most cases.

For the most part, the over bust will make you smaller on top.
Go with the under bust, wear your bra, as you might not need forms now.
As for the lower part, a High waist pantie girdle will help smooth things out.
It should give you some hip shape that will enhance your curves.

My first purchase, a few years ago, was a short "waist cincher" like you purchased. It worked ok when I was really thin but not now that I've gained a few pounds. Too much spills out over the top making for an unnatural "hourglass" look. I bought a longer-line corset from Glamour Boutique I am totally happy with it. I like it so much I bought another (different color, of course).

It's all in the process of tying off the corset. If everything is as tight as possible, any "excess" has to spill over the top and/or bottom. So, tie tightly where you want the loss of circumference, and looser as you get to the top or bottom.
It's easy to see the problem with a "waist cincher" as there are no ties and the excess is completely unmanageable. I needed to lose 10 pounds before the waist cincher really worked!

Crossfire, I have number of corsets. Most r under bust like yours. My tallest one is 10 1/2" high in front. So, yours is a bit short. I prefer under bust to over bust corsets because u can wear whatever forms u like with under busts. However, the longer the corset, the less of your body spills over the top and bottom!
If u wish to solve some of your spill over problems do what I do. Wear a firm, thin, seamless girdle over your corset. It smooths out both my lumps and the corset's bumps so I can wear tite clothing without them showing thru as much!

I don't get the part about the jeans... but, you can wear tight jeans, corset and top and look great. Is that what she means?
The excess is just part of the game, pull it in to create cleavage. Otherwise, you have the laces done up wrong. You should lace it from top to middle and bottom to middle so you tie it in the middle. You want the corset to be a little looser on the top and bottom and tight in the middle. That might help with the excess.

no, my wife is not very keen on my shaving my legs, so jeans i think is a middle ground. Women's jeans seem to be much more comfortable by the way.

Yes, i do mean that
I’m sorry crossfire but you know what the answer is to that problem. Excess body fat.
I know that is not a nice thing to say and you might be offended but I hope you are not.
Even though I am very slim with little body fat myself I still get a little bit of bulging if I over tighten one of my corsets.
If this is your problem then look on the bright side, Get skinny, get, healthy and look sexy in that corset as well.:)

well, if a blouse, jeans and heels will impress your wife, then that's the next step.
As for your question, it goes up or down....or a little of both. Suzy is right...if you drop a few pounds there's less to relocate.

Except for the pockets! All our lives my wife has complained about the lack of pockets in ladies wear. Noe I get it.
