So, moved into an apartment with the GF couple of months ago. This entailed a drastic thinning of the accumulation of a decades worth of...crap, for the most part. Yes it included some female clothing, but I had to do something about my hoarding habits. I threw out or donated a lot of clothes that don't fit, or I know I straight up will never wear. The new place is great in many ways, quite apart from the fact that I'm sharing with her. Closer to work, more pleasant area, good stores, pub, nicer garden, no negatives to speak of so far. Being able to actually have my clothes, (all of them!) in drawers and hanging up is a boon as well. Before we moved in, I told the landlord, who is a friend, that he might find me in a skirt occasionally, he was fine with that, didn't even seem to be a notable thing. Haven't actually let him see me like that yet, but yesterday, went out to light the barbecue, and decided not to change into shorts, was wearing t-shirt and light denim style fabric skirt in mid gray, knee length, perfect for the hot weather. GF was sitting out in a chair, and the neighbor was 30 feet away on his deck, tending to his barbecue. Hellos were exchanged, then I asked about a bookshelf we had found behind his house.Yes, he had meant it as a freebie, for anyone that wanted it, did we need help getting it downstairs? Now, for all I know he went and told his wife "we have freak for a new neighbor" but there was no indication of that in the conversation, and I don't care much what he thinks, as long as he lets me do my own thing. It's possible that he didn't actually realize, given the railings, but I'm pretty sure the skirt was quite visible. When I went back to the grill later, his wife was finishing up there, and also said hello, I'm betting if he didn't notice, she did. anyway, I'm getting used to letting others see me, and when I get my hiking kilt, I will be out and about with that. It is my intention to do the same with the skirts, though I pick stuff that is pretty kilt like.
