What coordinating outfits have you worn with your wife or S.O.? CD23 started this question and it got me to thinking:

I came across this article on the web and it deals with crossdresser and his ex girlfriend. After i read it it really piss me off and this is something any crossdresser, transwoman or woman should consider before getting into a relationship

what are your thoughts on this article

4. He probably did it too fast, and without warning or decorum. even couples (F/M) who agree ahead of time on matching outfits or looks are a bit odd- it's not something they do for long after the novelty of the first few times wears off. (this do not include coordinating, or when it is expected (team outfits)

This brings to mind a question:So... what coordinating outfits have you worn with your wife or S.O.?

We used to wear color matched shirts or t-shirts with jeans and tennies when we were dating and early in marriage. Now we more coordinate- make sure the looks are similar-ish (Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, etc.) when we are in M/F mode at dinner or a public event or outing.

Exercising- we still match shirt or top colors, but she wears tights when lifting or running. I wear shorts. Cycling- i have not gotten her to wearing nice stuff yet- we do not yet 'align'.

Curiously though- when we used to skate together we'd dress quite similar- our skates matched (i had the female version in my size, of course), so it was black tights or tank-unitards and near matching t-shirts, gloves, etc. We would semi-speed skate- bent low and using long strokes- we'd start by me matching her cadence, then i'd move up very close behind (i skated better without my arms than she did) and we'd be skating in tandem- overlapping strides, coordinating movement and intentions with the lightest touch on her hips or waist. <pix>

So there was a reason for it, shallow as it might be. She liked that her friends would tell her we looked good/cool together.

But back on topic: we agreed on the outfits beforehand. Simply put:
It is not a good idea to spring a big CD/TG surprise on your SO or other acquaintance without some serious talk first.

We were in Denny's and the cute little waitress noticed our matching nails. Julie has been having fun with nail art. She says "OMG,! You guys are so cute with your matching nails. You should totally wear matching outfits". We got a real giggle out of that idea. We have two matching outfits. It's really hard with me being fat and her hot.

Understanding it probably makes us look even sillier, as if me in a skirt doesn't look silly enough, but its not like I'm passing anyway and we have fun with it.

They say after you've been married a long time you tend to look like more and more like each other. We just took it to the next level.

One of our last dates together, we both wore matching jeans with Fleur-de-lis in rhinestones on the back pockets and tops. We wore matching T-shirts to a street fair. We were not twins, just doppelgangers :)

For this past Valentines day, I gave my wife (and one for me too) a set of matching leopard print bra and panties.

Rather exotic negligee sets once.
Expensive but worth it. :)

I've noted that most women outside of cheerleading and weddings try very hard not to wear matching outfits!

Mimi and I will coordinate our outfits a bit, but since we are of different body types it wouldn't do to wear matching clothes.

My wife and I once bought matching 'his and hers' dresses off the Venus website (see attached image). She has worn hers out, but I have yet had the opportunity to wear mine. Trust me ... she looks WAY better in this dress than I do! LOL!

That's pretty much what they do.

One day back when I was working, my female assistant and I accidentally wore the same color slacks and shirt/blouse. We didn't notice it but a co-worker did and burst out laughing. We had to stay apart the rest of the day.

My wife and I don't wear matching outfits, male or female. We have panties and bras that match but we don't intentionally coordinate them and nobody would see them anyway.

My wife purchased matching bra and panties for us. That and painting our nails the same color is the only thing we coordinate.

None, we are individuals and dress as we feel when we go out.
I'm not a fan of matching outfits, I think it takes away from the individuals themselves.

My husband and I used to wear a maroon dress shirt and black jeans when we would go to trade shows together. It wasn't so much dressing alike but that was our company colors. At least that is what he said. :)

I think we coordinate quite well behind closed doors. I'm pretty sure she would not be too keen on the idea of me going out on the town this way with her.

In male mode, I try to dress up or down to her level. If she's wearing heels and hose at a minimum I'm wearing dress shoes, nice trousers with a sharp crease, and a sport coat in colors that don't clash. When she gets dressed to the nines I'll wear a great suit, french cuffs & cufflinks, and try to choose a tie color that complements her dress or accessories.

Works for us.

well, when my wife and I left our wedding we were dressed alike (there's a story about that somewhere on here); after I transitioned, we went to a company Christmas party in the same gown (design) but in different colors; numerous times in the same colors for trade shows, etc; we have matching bikini's for the hot tub....
