So today I went ross with the full intention of buying something, but ended just leaving. I feel like everyone is looking at me and I get embarrassed than leave.

To day I went shopping. I bought a pair of lovely pink panties, a single top and new stockings. On the way out of the shopping centre I came across a dress shop with really good prices so went in and bought two nice mini skirts. I did this in man mode. I too was nervous at first however your confidence grows with every shopping trip. I first started in large Department Stores at the busy period where everyone is looking after themselves. Now for quick fixes I use my local shops. I also sometime browse with my wife. After the first experience your confidence will grow.

Ross is a great place to shop.
My three dollar watch, bras at two dollars and other varieties make it the only new clothes op shop I know.
If you go around looking scared, of course people are going to look.
You are just as well going in looking weird and tell them you are a cross dresser, they will certainly help you empty your wallet, pack up the purchases and send you on your way.....
Now to go home ant try on all this stuff. :)

Yes. Dont be afraid to ask to try something on. Most of the time believe it or not they will smile and open a room for you. I am becoming more and more confident in this. I walk around in guy mode holding things up to me checking color and length right there at the rack. Get sime smiles sometimes. Sure the occassional giggle. But its not malicious intent. Most people are actually way more accepting then I imagined. This is a bold new world we are in ladies and gents. Be strong. Be brave. But more important. Be you.

I'm lucky,My wife is always shopping with me and is very helpful in finding clothes. I probably get some weird looks because I am digging through racks as much as my wife is. Mostly the clearance racks. I got lucky the other day and found a pair of women's jeans in a clearance rack that fit perfectly for $4. Marked 90% off. They are pair of red corduroy. Croft and Barrow. Now I know what size to get.

I've done the same thing many times. But I've also spent lots of time in ladies' departments and going to the cashier with several items. Just don't look at other people at all and you'll get more comfortable with it. Problem is, there must have been people I know that have seen me handling the goods in the lingerie dept.! Sometimes that inner voice is worth listening to. Get out of the store now!

Give it another try! I fondly remember Ross as the store where I first shopped in drab 4 yrs ago and tried some ladies clothes on. No problems at all from the girl at the desk.....a great place for girls like us to start their shopping.....

Good luck!

Nobody was looking at you its all in your head.
You are too worried someone will think you are gay or some kind of pervert which I'm sure you are not.
Don't let what others think stop you just try again.

See if you can find a store that has self-serve checkouts, they are great for taking nerves out of the equation

if you get the feeling people are looking at you...and you start to look around to see who is watching you....you draw attention to yourself and people WILL start looking at you. Basicly....you make real what was initially in all your head.

If GG's can buy underwear for men (without shame or embarrassment)why can't we buy lingerie for girls (really for us) without the same embarrassment. There is nothing to be embarrassed about or shamed for that matter, its your perception (not correct though)!!!!!!!

The key is to remain calm and just focus on shopping. The more nervous that you are, the sooner that someone will notice that something is "different" or wrong. Most people couldn't care the less what others are doing in a store or what they have in there shopping cart.

We've all felt that fear before. I go now and buy whatever I want for me or my wife. I shop
at Ross, TJ Maxx, Rugged Wearhouse, Target..........

Go buy what you want. They need your money in this economy.

I hate Ross.... just nothing I like and they don't sell skirt suits separates separately ... and you have to wait in line to try stuff on.... Go to Kohls... the dressing rooms are unattended and the mens and womens departments are on the same floor so you can take an arm load of fem clothing and go over to the mens dressing room and try them on... no one stares... no one cares... I go there and just try things on... best free fem fun you can have! after you find something just go to the checkout and purchase it.... they don't judge... and you know it fits because you tried it on!

My shopping experiences started wthi me just sneaking a peek at the clothes as I casually walked through the women's departments. After making a few purchases and never getting any stares or negative comments it has become really fun to go shopping . ( Too $much$ fun almost !

Contrary to what some have suggested, many people will be looking at you. Some will wonder why you're in the ladies department, some will just see you and not think about it.

The thing to remember is, it doesn't matter if they are looking at you. You have a right to be there and a right to buy clothing intended for females.

So how do you cope with your fears? Just plan in advance what you are going to do, then go ahead and do it. Just like giving a speech or singing in front of a crowd, the best thing to do is to just do it and not worry about what the people may think.

If your concern is that your neighbor, boss, or preacher will see you, drive to a nearby town to shop.
