Whats your style?

This is something I have always wondered about. When I look at new picture posts from our members, the majority are of us dressed to the nines. Is it that when alot of us dress that is the style we go for or is that the only time we feel like snapping pics? Do alot of girls here dress casual also or do most of you opt for fancy dresses and stuff? I know, including myself, not all of us get out regularly and we really only get dressed at home.

So, what is your style majority of the time. Do you mostly go for the glitz and glam, or do you prefer the casual look.

For me I could throw on a pair of shorts and a tee, maybe jeans and I could still be the girl I feel I am. At times it is nice to dress up, especially if I had a place to go. But I dont need it to feel feminine. Huh, another thought, am I not really a cd but tg?

My mixed thought for today. Any comments?

Most of the time I wear what is considered casual. Jeans, slacks and a top pretty much what you see women wearing everyday.
I do enjoy dressing to the nines too but its when I have somewhere special to go.

On the rare occasions when I get to just hang out dressed, I typically skip the elaborate shapewear and makeup routine and just do shorts and a tank top. More often I'm just getting dressed up for 20 minutes to take pictures and enjoy looking at myself in the mirror, so I tend to really go for it.

I'm fairly casual for the most part, but it all depends on where I'm headed. A nice restaurant will probably get a dress or a skirt and heels, but the mall gets jeans or shorts with flats or maybe wedges. I haven't found a place to take a ball gown yet...

(If I found a place to go I suppose I'd need to buy a gown!)

Hi Erica, I like Both, but not overdone. Over the top and too groady looking are not for me

As far as the OOH RAH T shirt, Her hubby is wearing one that says.......... Ah, No she Really doesn't

Personally, I definitely prefer a less casual style. I think part of it has to do with the fact that I spend 90% of my time in casual "guy mode", and when I dress up I really want to go all out. Although even in guy mode I think I have a less casual style than the average guy my age. I would never wear sweatpants out of the house in either mode, for example.

As for posting photos, I just don't think I look that good with the minimal makeup required for the casual look... and would feel strange with evening makeup paired with jeans or something. Although the few times I've gone out I have tried to tone everything down. What works for photos doesn't seem to necessarily work for the real world.

I think pulling off a convincing casual presentation may actually be more difficult than an over the top glam look, so I have a lot of respect for those girls who can successfully pull it off! :)

As a child of the 1950's and 1960's I only wear dresses and heels a la June Cleaver and Harriet Nelson. Back then women did not wear pants of any kind. So, every time I am en femme it is a pretty dress, slip, bra, panty, hosiery, wig and heels. I have two pairs of very low heels or flats for use my in my back yard so I don't sink into the soft grass. For me I cannot imagine feeling feminine wearing girl's jeans, shorts or pants.

I hope you can understand that different people have different styles! I don't tend to wear a dress & heels to make dinner for the family, unless I'm just cooking for the kids and my husband and I are heading out to a restaurant. But I know others who do, and who love their full-length aprons to catch most of the splatters.

Jess, I really don't care about other people. I speak for my wife.

So what is your wife's style? Does she wear a dress to make dinner because it makes you happy? Or does she choose to do that for herself, but then complain about it anyway? I tend to agree that it's annoying to listen to someone complain about a choice that he or she made.

Victoria, your pictures of the tee shirt and shorts done put me off my feed for a month!! The style I favor is shown in the avatar but it is not always pants. Actually, those are real full at the bottom and look like a skirt.

Logically, at least for me anyway, I try to dress sharply whether dressed more formally or casually. So I always try to coordinate the entire outfit from shoes to belt to purse, jacket, top, bottom or dress. Friday night I went out in a long flowered skirt and low heels, not formal nor very informal, smart casual. last night I wore bright orange cotton cropped pants, a black with small polka dots sleeveless top, low wedge sandals and a cropped black jacket. That is casual for me. I wear shorts when I can. This last year has been a year to experiment with dresses, and I have several to yet wear out, some pretty daring in their design and colors.

As someone else said here, in guy mode, it is pretty much very casual with shorts, a polo shirt and flip flops, except for this week, since I have a shiny burnt orange toe nail polish on. I hardly ever just dress to sit at home, so I try to make the best of my fairly regular nights out and dress to be noticed (as in noticing someone dressed sharply) vary the look to go up or down a little from the norm.

Daytime I have a office girl look as I work as a secretary/receptionist for a large company. My evenings are more of a short or blue jeans with a tunic top unless going out and then I may stay dressed up from work.

Yes! Okay, more description. I will dress in any manner....as long as it is appropriate for the plans of the day. Went to a Farmer's Market yesterday and wore a casual maxi skirt and a light top. Today is shorts and a sleeveless top as I have chores to do around the house but still might need to run out. My avatar is from Diva Las Vegas where the rules can be stretched a little and that was the final dinner also, which is a little more dressy. The only time I have a wider variance of choice is when I go to a meeting. Since it is a private meeting, anything is appropriate.

Victoria @ #6

I am guessing my style falls somewhere between the two sets of images, but just a tad (LOL) more towards the runway models.

I generally wear a casual dress and a more dressy ensemble when I have gone out. I just bought my first pair of NYDJ jeans and blouse and will find out if I like that look tomorrow

I try to dress nicely when going out or to the club. Around home, I usually wear caftans, loungers, nighties with robes, rompers, shorts, tanks tops and stuff like that. Along with slippers, sandals or loafers.:battingeyelashes::)

A bit off-topic, but can someone please tell me what's going on below the armpits of the 'lady' wearing the CUTF pants in MysticLady's picture? I've been trying to type a proper reply about my style for 10 minutes now but I can't stop looking at it.

Dresses and heels for me every time. I can wear pants anytime as a guy ;)

Besides, my opportunities to dress are sporadic at best, so it's head-to-toe pretty for me if and when the chance arises.

I've never thought of it as "a" style, but as a whole look. I've been trying to grow a wardrobe of styles that all work. I've had a lot ot success and a few complete failures. If Tina is going to have a life she needs flexibility in her presentation. I will say that most of what she has is on the classy side, so it's been slow progress as the expense slows all down. Even the leather jean are really sharp.

Casual but classy. I don't have the opportunity to freely dress as I may but casual is the look I'm striving for. Perhaps because dresses and gowns don't have anyplace in our lifestyle right now. I don't go out clubbing. I haven't joined any support group yet so the opportunity isn't there yet. Something to look forward to!

Looking at the shots in the previous post one to three would out me almost instantly.
May as well wear a bikini through the mall.
Shot four, the lady is about three times my size, too many fries I think.
The lass on the extreme right approaches casual for me, I would still need to look smart and not sloppy.
Around the house "no one can see how badly I scream". :)

The style I wear is pretty much what I have on hand which is a few skirts and a whole lot of shirts that dont quite flatter my broad shoulders. I have a pair of ballet flats and 4in wedge heels that I call my own.

In terms of my own style though, I know exactly what I would wear if I could. I design my own outfits and publish them on polyvore. I have a pretty decent following of 13,000+ viewers so I guess my style is decent. Also my GG friend wants to take me shopping one day as her personal shopper because she loves my style...and she wants to give me an opportunity to go out dressed which I am super excited about. Ill post my outfits below if anyone wants to see my style.

I'm a dress-and-skirt kind of girl, but I like casual clothes as well as more dressy ones. I have a number of casual dresses that look good on me, and an array of skirts and tops that also look good, and those are what I'd select for an afternoon shopping. But for going out to the Black Crown, I could easily go dressier. (My big flowy Jessica London maxi is almost in a class by itself, suitable for many situations.)

My "style" would be classy old broad or naughty librarian. To me, every piece of feminine attire that I wear from my heels to my bracelets and earrings exudes erotica. If I'm going to go to all the trouble of shaving everything and makeup and hair, then I'm going to look like I went to all that trouble!

My crossdressing time is too valuable to wear something casual these days....
Flip flops and shorts, just aren't worthy more than a second of that time.

My style is business dress and vintage wear

Hi .

At our Renaissance camps im dressed as a Wench for kitchen dutys & we cook & do meals for at least 130 to 150 people for a week . & at other times as a Chateline or other clothes befitting our time,

For normal day . night wear just a skirt tops of different styles to suit the detail im doing .

Im trying to think what is my style well id be quite happy in Renaissance or gypsy , im not a modern female though i wear my skirts every day & i have my . I like these till they drop. just comforable every day wear,

spos really my head wear is what sets me apart from others & thats what people see first like my pic -avata, i do have many colours hey i dont blend in , so yea i stand out some what.

As i get my gear together German wear ill have more idear of what i like so will wear along those lines . most normal clothes dont do much for myself & my thoughts are more in keeping with my background so my style will be close to that,

Different well its more inkeeping with myself in being different, so it goes hand in hand.
One day when im happy with my ...look... ill get some one to put some pics up then youll see how weird i really am,......

My style is quite dressy. Dressing in shorts or a girl tee has no appeal, too similar to guy clothes so seems a bit pointless.
I like a pseudo vintage look, lots of fitted dresses, pencil or pleated skirts and heels! Dressing is mostly about fun and aesthetics for me, and that's what I like playing with.

On occasion, I'll dress to the nines, but usually it is dressy casual ....skirts, nice tops and reasonable lower heels. Oh, and as little makeup as possible.

I'm fortunate to be out and about 3 or 4 times per week predominately in tops and skirts, occasionally a dresses but never pants. Always full make up which helps to not be recognised.

I do go through phases (styles?) though. Currently its mini skirts with boots, the one joy of winter.

Well, when I go out (unless it's just to the mall) I dress in a style that a friend once called "Corporate Naughty". It's a bit dressy, a bit office, and a bit sexy all in one. Usually though I'm just casual. In summer it's shorts, capris or a summer skirt with flats or sandals. In fall and winter it's slacks or jeans with boots, sneakers, or something with a little heel.
I enjoy being casual just as much as being dressed to the nines. It's no longer about what I wear. It's about how I feel and how I express who I am.

Usually just a t-shirt and jeans, what a GG my age would wear. A dress when I want to get dressed up, but that isn't too often. If there's no need to wear a dress I rather wear more comfortable stuff, and I usually just go about my normal day when dressed. So it is impractical to wear a LBD or mini skirt at times. I also try to use as little make up as possible.

I never go for the glitz and glam. I think it brings attention to me, and then I feel outed and cover blown. I only get to dress once or maybe twice a month, so when I do go out en femme, I like to wear a skirt or dress. I have worn jeans to the grocery, but wear my women's jeans to work all the time. However, we are now planning / getting ready to visit a museum and I'm pretty sure I'll wear capris and a casual top.

I try to dress appropriate to the situation. This includes the season, the weather, the location, and the purpose.

If I want to go out to a club or dance, then I'm wild and a bit "kinky", complete with heels, hose, short skirt, satin blouse, and glitzy make-up.

If I'm going shopping in the mall, then it's leggings or shorts (not too short), with a loose fitting top over a modest bra, with makeup that looks more natural even in bright lights.

When I'm flying, I usually wear something more like office wear, dressy slacks or a longer skirt, low heels, and perhaps hosiery, but not too glossy.

I wore smaller forms, when I needed them, and a B-cup or C-cup is plenty for what is needed.

There was a time, when I was younger, that I could wear 3 inch heels, or thigh high boots with 3 inch heels, mid-thigh skirt, and a blouse that sparkled a lot, showed my breasts, and flattered my waist. Thanks to childhood asthma, I was a bit barrel-chested so I avoided tight fitting blouses.

Now that I'm older, I can dress more like a 40-50 year old woman, look 10 years younger, and still look like I could have a teen-age daughter.

As a result of dressing to "blend", I can dress frequently and rarely get noticed, let alone read. I can even pass the "ladies' room line test". If you can wait in line to use a stall in the ladies room, for 10-15 minutes and not have women staring or making rude remarks, then you are perfectly dressed for your particular situation.

My favorite style is business dress and business casual with nylons and heels. I do have a few cocktail dresses and holiday outfits that I wear typically around New Years. I also have a few sweater dresses that are, for me, casual wear. If I wear womens jeans I like to wear a nice sweater or top and heels.

I do not own flip flops and if I am going to dress I am not going to be a crossdresser crossdressing (in other words I am not going to dress up like a girl who is dressing like a guy). I am also not interested in looking like the 2 pics on the right in the people of Walmart post above. eeeewwww! and what is up with that girls underarms??

It depends on my mood. Most days, working in the home office, it's something like a denim skirt, tank top or tee and flats. Capris or jeans when I'm doing things around the house--laundry etc., but I have a few dresses, dressy skirts, and heels that I wear from time to time. (Today, the shoes are a summery espadrille.)

I dress in a style that a friend once called "Corporate Naughty". I like that, that is cute.

Daily I will come to work now in a dress or shorts and top with wedges or flats but change to scrubs. Getting up and down on the floor with dogs doesn't work well with skirts or heels. But if I am going out to a nice place like Bree says, I am going to go for looks.
