It takes all kinds of kinds

Maybe these early mornings while sit here all comfy in my nightie and contemplate my life and world around me are not all that good for me. This morning I was thinking about a song that has caught my attention lately. A song about world full of all kinds of people and that we need to accept and celebrate the diversity of our world, but not everyone does that.

We, as cd's tg's or whatever we are classified as are part of that diverse world. Not only are we diverse because of that classification but also because of our different cultures because we are from all over world.

I had heard the song several times but hadn't paid that puch attention to all the lyrics until one day I caught the bit about the congressman who wore dresses. After I caught that I went and looked up the lyrics, and the whole thing really made me think about all the diversity in the world and how the ignorance of those who are not accepting makes the world a harder place for us to live in.

So while "some point the finger, let ignorance linger" I hope we as a group are better people than that.

I hope this didn't come of as rant, or that its out of place here. It just nice to think that there are couple of song writers and a singer out there who can include cd's in those groups who shouldn't be having fingers pointed at them. It gives me some hope.

The enlightened social atmosphere that we wnat will probably never happen. Most people are just trying to make their way thru life without regard for anybody but their family. They don't think about CDs TGs etc unless they are confronted with it directly. Most of the people can't even tell you the name of their next door neighbor much less anybody on the next block. Until people start getting involved in social issues around them, how do you expect it to happen on a larger scale?

There are a great many songs about alternate lifestyles and relationships.
