It's been a long, busy summer with very little time for dressing. I don't think I've been 100% dressed up since early June! But now that the kids are headed back to school and the weather will be cooling down, I'm feeling that old familiar urge again. I spent a long time gazing at some wigs at the mall today, and Sears had some really cute clothes on sale, and a pair of T-strap heels that I probably would've bought if they had my size.

Sigh...just a few more weeks. Any other girls that take the summer off feeling this way?

I'm looking forward to fall. I usually work at home one day a week and that will be my Dawn-time.

My wife gave me a great gift today... it was Sunday and she said for me to go into the office when I know no-one's there and spend some time as Dawn. I packed all my stuff up, went in, locked the door and spent a very productive three hours at my workplace. It's about the third time I've had some solid CDing time this summer and was really fun.

Also, lately, my wife has helped me buy a number of articles of clothing and shoes and this has really intensified the pink fog... sigh....

Any change of season is good, it's a great excuse to go shopping! I don't have to take summers off, kids are all grown and out on there own.

I don't take the summer off, the temperature in my house stays the same regardless of the season.

I love the summer and outdoor activities, but if I'm going out in public dressed, it's got to be cool or cold for me to best hide my masculine features so in that respect, I'm looking forward to the cooler weather.

I'm in a similar situation. Although the kids are long gone from the house, my wife is an educator. Home for the summer: mid June to Labor Day. I have progressed from snatching crumbs of time from the floor. I patiently wait for the first Wednesday after Labor Day every year for the time (7 hours a day) to arrive. The weather is still comfortable outside for two plus months. My routine is get properly attired, make breakfast, eat and read the newspaper while sipping my morning coffee outside at the picnic table.

Our kids are their own with families of their own now but still summer is a busy time for with my work. Last winter wasn't much better as I was kept pretty busy then as well. I am really looking forward to this fall and winter as it looks like the drought is over so maybe I can have some stay at home rainy days, and likes the kids I can always hope for some snows days.

Ahhh fall, the kids are back in school (Grandkids in my case), the leaves will start to turn shortly, the stores are stocking fall and winter fashions, football is in the air, the sun has moved southward and the days are getting noticeably shorter, the dog days of summer will be behind us with the passing of August, there is the promise of cooler days and an approaching chill in the night air.

Whoa! I forgot I’m living in Southern California. Yeah most of that is true here too, but our night time temperatures have been in the low sixties with daytime highs in the seventies, we really haven’t had much of a summer yet. The infamous Santa Anna’s usually don’t grace us with their presence until September, periodically hanging around until late November, maybe even into December. Hot 100+ days and nights not much cooler, humidity down in single figures, and wind gusts to 30-40 mph. You can feel the wind literally sucking the moisture out of your skin – drag a fingernail across your leg or arm and it leaves a white trail in the dry skin. Definitely not the kind of weather that makes you want to try on the latest fall fashions.

Absolutely. I grew out hair this summer, as per mutual agreement, but it drove me up the wall. I had a couple of bad "gender storms" over the summer, and I am really anticipating the cooler weather. There are stirrings; our local consignment shop is starting to stock Fall clothing and accessories, and I've already started to put some dings in my credit card. :)

Barbra, yes, you're in San Diego. I'm originally from OC (and went to college in the IE), and I understand Santa Ana season completely. It doesn't help that it sometimes goes into the end of October and occasionally the beginning of November. Moisturize! (And spend more time closer to the water. :D )

And here I thought you were crazy talking about fall coming. I mean here, yesterday it was 110deg. Today 110deg. Tomorrow 111deg.
BUT THEN LOW AND BEHOLD!!!!! A little further investigation shows a cold snap by Friday. All the way down to 104
Yep.... better go shopping for furry coats

I really enjoy winter clothing...the tights, high-heeled boots. For those who have a hard time "passing", a nice jacket with the collar up can take you to places forbidden in summer clothing.
Another thought is my head does not sweat as much under a wig!

Absolutely! Between the wig and tights, dressing up in August in Chicago does not work! I used to hate the end of summer, but looking forward to comfortable dressing makes it all better.
