Eestrogen cream - day 1 of the Wiley Protocol, so the dose ramps up and down based on the day of a 28 day cycle. (In 14 days I'll start on progesterone). I'll see the doc again in October, and talk to her about spiro (she hasn't started me on that yet.)
Finally I feel like I'm making some forward progress.
I'll post something if I go more hilariously crazy than I usually am. (This barely seems possible, but hey, hormones are pretty powerful.)
In the grand scheme of things, I know this is a small step, the first of many, but it at least feels like a step.
I don't think I'm going to tell my wife about it until later - like until she's my ex-wife, and maybe not until I have a vagina. I just don't feel like sharing my body chemistry with the small town where I used to live. Some things should be private. Present company excluded, of course.

It takes time for any effects to become noticeable, so be patient. I find it interesting hearing from many others in different areas how much difference there is on the application of the hormones from one area to another. I would classify this as a "need to know" subject for most people.

In terms of application - they indicated it was absorbed into fat, so the inner thighs seemed like a better choice than my inner fore arms. Darn it.

Congratulations!
Please don't feel that this is any small step. You have made a huge step just by getting the ball rolling.
I'm assuming you don't live with said wife. Long before you have a vagina, she might notice something's amiss.

That's a groaner...but a good one.
I also originally typed 'Long before you have a vagina, she might notice something's fishy.' I caught that one in time.

I'm so happy for you Paula. I think you'll look back and see that this is a bigger step than you realize. Be patient with the physical changes, and who you tell or don't tell is your own business. As for any of this making you crazy, I think you'll find that HRT will bring you a sense of normalcy, that you will find amazing. God bless.

Day 6 - I am definitely feeling this. I have more energy than I've had all year. It's like "whoa - I know kung fu." I actually feel pretty good today. I can't remember the last time I woke up just feeling "pretty good."

I wish you all the best. Maybe only some months separate our experiences, and I surely agree that this is NOT a small step at all; regarding your (ex) wife I too suppose that it will be difficult to hide the effects until SRS, but this is also a personal matter, also how your body respond. Ironically I wish to you a radical change, so radical that it cannot be hidden (isn't that HOPED FOR, I suppose :) ?).

Its not like blowing up balloons, it will take many months before anything noticeable happens so dont get all excited yet. GG's typically take 4-6 years to develop fully grown breasts and they dont have any 'T' to fight. There are other changes that happen long before the breasts.
I suggest you take care of the divorce sooner, than later.

Congrats Paula this for me was a giant step so don't make it small if it really isn't but if it is to you rock on girly and enjoy every step on the dance floor.

Congrats Paula. In no way is this a small step. It is a wonderful step in a series of steps you are now willing to undertake. Yes, you will feel it. It will be both physical, and a whole lot mental. And you will change.
My wife just noticed my breasts (38B, which we attribute to Gynecomastia for now), on the day she finally accepted and agreed i was a woman, and she was at peace with it, and I should get a therapist and start hormones. So she will be coming more into alignment with my life over the next month.
You will notice things far before anyone else. Enjoy them girl.

Don't forget to snap a few photos of yourself from week to week, and put the date in the file names. It's truly a miracle to behold!
It gets better and better from here on out hun!

Welcome to the E side :) now it gets fun for a while
you might find yourself crying uncontrollably watching stupid movies like the transformers, you know robots getting killed and all,
or I'm just maybe really weird.

Your on you way now.
The time will go by faster the you think.
I still remember my first dose. How I spent a hour looking at two little pills
And thinking how much could this really do.
Now I'm coming up on my one year rebirth day.
And life has never been so great.

Yeah, I did that with Star Trek. I dunno why.

I'll be happy to cry over stupid stuff. I'd like to be able to cry over anything! I'm so tired of being an amusing, but otherwise emotionless robot!

I used to keep a 'boys don't cry' attitude, even tho' I've known for years I was female. Just part of the charade. On HRT, sometimes it just feels so good to cry, let it out, and have a good sob fest. Sometimes my waitress thinks it's a little odd.
