We went to Wallyworld to get a couple of things. As we were standing in line a woman behind us started snickering... I'm sure it was about me. I turned around and in my deepest male voice I asked her if something was funny! She quickly said "no" and turned away. We laughed all the way out... It was so funny!!! I don't think I would have said anything at all if not for a previous thread. But it was worth it!

You handled the situation perfectly. But, It was Walmart for god sakes, she was probably wondering why such a pretty lady would shop there as she ran away with her baggy sweatpants and dirty hooters shirt on.

She might have been laughing at herself for all you know. If she was laughing at you, you might want to ignore the posts here suggesting retaliation and remember that the rest of the world doesn't understand crossdressing AT ALL (heck, no one here does either) and people laugh when they're nervous or confused. In my mind, if you dress publicly you have to be prepared for this and not blame the general public for their ignorance.

Best reaction is no reaction.

Be careful how you retaliate to the folks at Walmart. Laughing at their faulty genetics could be construed as a hate crime.

Well, I should have mentioned that I was with my BF and I honestly wasn't worried about any kind of violence. He's a pretty big guy and I can handle myself rather well, too. And whether she was snickering at us or not, which we truly believed she was; isn't the point. I was just trying share a funny story. Because it WAS FRIGGEN HILARIOUS! And besides... I thought I looked pretty cute.

Gosh... why so serious all the time! Gotta learn to laugh more!!! Life is fun, enjoy it.
Hate crime! LOL!!!

I have just gone along with the joke and embarrassed them.
A bit of reverse psychology.

Now that was funny.

wow talk about serious...the comments above were in jest except one. If you don't want people's opinions....don't post.

And it was a good point, how do you know you were the butt of the joke? Maybe she was reading a headline in the Enquirer. Paranoid some?

That was one way to handle it. But as lori said, what if she wasn't snickering about you?

It does come across as a little paranoid.
