View Full Version : Do Men Underdress?

When you go to a store, mall or whatever do you ever wonder if any of the men there are wearing panties or underdressed and if so how many. I do. Are you glad that you are wearing yours and have the courage to do so?

I really don't wonder or concern myself with what other men are wearing under their outer clothing.
It doesn't take much courage to wear panties under your outer garmets. Nobody can see them and few people would care.

Doesn't faze me in the least what other folks are wearing under their street clothes Hon. Besides a lot of women wear "tighty whities" I'm told so to each their own I guess.:battingeyelashes::)

Wear your boobs to the mall. That takes some courage, but even then, the majority won't care.
I have to admit, I don't spend a lot of time wondering about other people's underwear.

Nope they don't Karren. I was crushed!! Now about that new TV series called "Panty Police" I think it will work! You look for men with VPL's and ask them if they are wearing panties. Just the looks on their faces will make it a big hit!:)

I don't imagine guys i see with panties on in the mall, although if anyone in the mall wants to imagine me in panties, maybe they should ask for my number first? Maybe they won't have to imagine anymore ;P

I never even think about it.
But here is something I do think about: I only wear my skirts, blouses, and dresses one or two times, and then I give them away. I wonder what women would think if they new that it was previously owned by a man? Hmmmmmm?

Persephone now lets not start picking on plumbers, most of them are nice guys and I know of at least one who does weaer panties.
Now the questiong posed in the thread, I have never thought much about it much one way or the other. One time a group of us were talking and one the gals was an emergency room nurse. She told us that probably four of ten guys they treated where they had to cut their clothes off were wearing panties or pantyhose underneath. Not a scientific study at all but just her observation.

Interesting, I never, ever thought about what some guy is wearing underneath. Could make an interesting survey, 'Excuse me sir, we're conducting a survey and would like to know if you are wearing any womens' undies'.
On the other hand, ever wonder how men and women are going commando?

I don't feel any shame in confessing that I do have wondering thoughts whether or not a particular person is actively underdressing or has crossdressing tendencies. I'm not one bit curious of what they are wearing though. More interested in whether it is crossdressing that gives them that special glow (smiles, etc), if they are appreciating what others are wearing, or wondering if they take advantage of a natural special feminine feature that I notice that they have

I usually don't give it a thought either, but recently was involved in a vehicle accident and denied treatment even though I was hurting because I didn't want to handle medics trying to reveal my injuries and seeing my under garments. And I wasn't at fault. That was a couple months ago and I still underdress. Is it because I didn't learn or because the need to underdress is so strong?

There's one way to find out, Deebra. Next time you go to the mall, go up to a guy and ask if he's wearing panties and pantyhose under his khakis. From a reasonable distance, I recommend.

I never thought to wonder about what men are wearing under their jeans or whatever. I'd be flattered if someone wondered what I was wearing under my blouse and skirt. That said, I still like to look at women, and, yes, I do wonder what they are wearing underneath. BTW, is anyone else glad that fewer teen boys are wearing their jeans/shorts below their butts? That was a disgusting trend.

I couldn't agree more! As I think back to the days before I turned to womanhood, the dull whitey-tighties and boxer shorts that I wore, Ish! Today, my underwear drawer is full of pretty panties, french cuts, tangos, bikinis, hipsters and on and on. I wear panties every day and from time to time, a bra too. Sometimes I do wonder what men are wearing under their dockers and polo shirts. In the course of my daily goings about, I see lots of cute guys and I sometimes muse...........do they, have they or would they dare...........to step into a different world, put a bra and panties on, hose, heels and a pretty dress. For me, when I am out in public fully dressed, it is soooo very liberating, soo very natural. I think the thing I like most about being a woman is wearing dresses.

Since fully embracing my feminine side I have wondered if a couple of guys are cross dressers. However, I never think about what they are wearing underneath. I know I prefer a pair of panties to my male undies. I occasionally will wear a bra if I can get away with out being too noticeable (under a sweater or sweat shirt where the straps don't show.)

I went to several places wearing a polyester top and underdressed including a bra. No one looked at me funny let alone said anything. I have seen other guys looking at lingerie from time to time. They looked like they knew what they were looking for. It used to be a joke in the clothing industry that most of the salesmen bought there underwear at the panty bar.

I don't have any interest in what underwear guys are wearing. I do however often wonder what type of panties the girls are wearing, especially if she is in a short skirt or other sexy clothes. Often check out the type of bra as well, always looking for ideas.

Wait a minute. If a man underdresses he is technically a crossdresser. In fact underdressers don female garb more often than most that dress in public don't they?

I'm really surprised that most here don't go in a store and wonder if any other males are wearing fem undies. We've estimated that 2 to 3 percent of the male population crossdress, so if you're in a crowded mall or WalMart with 500 people. a third of them men, then stastics say that (500x.33x.03=4.95%) of the men are stastically crossdressed, or in our biased opinion more than the stastical 5, like a zillion ?*#%^&. I do think about this because I am a CD and wear my fem undies when out and about and would like to know how many other very intelligent males are also wearing their panties. It's like setting in the Dallas Cowboys section with your Redskin garb on and looking around and wondering in that mass of blue and gray if there are any other Redskins.
And yes it takes courage to underdress and go out in public; there is always the chance you'll be in an accident and have your clothes cutoff, a bra strap showing, bending over and showing the top of your bright red silk thong.

On a customer's site a few weeks ago and I was having to fish some cables out from under the floor with the help of the customer and realized my jeans head south a bit, a quick check and the polo I was wearing seemed to keep things covered. However later that night I was out with the same customer and during the chit chat and sharing of photos on our phones, he sporadically started to laugh and mentioned the last contractor that was on the site was a very very large person and when he bent down or crouched, just out of (plumbers) curiosity looked down to realized this guy wasn't wearing boxers or tighties whities... Above the pant line soared the band of his bright pink G-string... He did take a photo out of shear amazement, will say he wasn't negative at all more amazed! :)
The next day I was waiting for a ride back to my hotel to head home and low and behold there was this large guy that came thru the security gates... When I say a large his belly hung out from under his shirt by no less than 4 inches, and the was hanging over the moderately smaller belt line (waist?) My 1st thought was, is this the guy? My 2nd thought was feeling sorry for him, cause he has no idea he was exposed like he was... or maybe he did? I'm not sure and wasn't going to approach him either, but it was confirmed it was indeed him once the customer was driving me away... For all I know when he returned to the site he might have been sharing his newest photo... Me?

I was at the gas station waiting in line in the store and two ladies in the line farther back were discussing and trying to figure out if I was wearing high cut panties under my tight jeans.
I was indeed wearing them so my VPL was apparent. They just smiled as I left it wasn't a big deal.

I've been under-dressing since college. Not such a big deal now.
Back then, men's underwear was either boxers or briefs. Most men's pants were also thick and slightly baggy. During "disco fever", men wore tighter pants - for about 2-3 years. After that, it lost the popularity. Possibly because they showed panty lines, and most of the guys who looked good in tight pants wore bikinis - so panty lines gave them away.
To this day, disco is often associated with the gay scene more than other times of fads. I loved going to discos in my tight panties, tight pants, and quiana shirt - it was like stretchy silky satin, more like a woman's blouse. I'd add the platform shoes and dance four hours. I had no shortage of dancing partners. Most women loved disco, but their boyfriends only wanted to do the slow dances. My parents had taught me to jitterbug and swing when I was 12 and 13, and when disco came out I realized quickly that it was the same moves in slow motion.
Of course, one of the reasons the girls could dance with me and I didn't get in trouble was because everybody thought I was gay, including the bouncers, bar tender, and wait staff. There were a few times when a girl would invite me to coffee after closing, and the bounce would tell her "Don't waste your time and money girl, he's as queer as a three dollar bill". Of course, the way I was with them on the dance floor told them otherwise (quite sensual), but they usually bought it, and bugged out.
There were a couple of women who realized that I was wearing bikini panties under my tight pants, and they wanted to check it out. Usually, if I thought things were going to get too hot, I'd put on the jockeys - so she wouldn't figure out my little secret. Was I INSANE!!!
Today, it would be nearly impossible to tell who was wearing what under their pants. Most men wear pants so baggy you can't tell WHAT might be down there. They could be wearing DEPENDS and you couldn't tell.

I mostly worried about if I'd get busted in the locker room at the gym. The panties I normally wear are single color microfiber so it's not taking a big risk. I don't think guys in a locker room spend a lot of time checking out each others underwear.

This reminds me of last year in the doctors office. I went in for a allergic reaction to poison ivy and I had to get a steroid shot in the buttocks. I had on a red pair of microfiber panties,I figured they looked closest to men's underwear. I think the nurse recognized them as women's panties from the look she gave me but she didn't say anything.

I'm really surprised by how few people wonder! I definitely wonder all the time, particularly the handful of times that I've underdressed! When I'm underdressed (again, very rarely), my senses are on high alert, and I get startled easily, even though more than likely no one would ever know. I guess I need to underdress more!
I do worry about being in a car accident--though I guess if that's the case, there are more serious things to worry about. My wife worked in a trauma center and said the doctors just snip all the clothes off anyway and don't even have time to analyze the clothing choices. Though I bet someone's had a laugh at some point.
Well, I also wonder about many statistical things, and when I'm in a stadium of 60,000 people, I think it's funny that all of them are a result of sex. That's AT LEAST 60,000 episodes of sex! Isn't that CRAZY?!

When I am out and have on a lovely pair of knickers, I find myself wondering if they are prettier than those worn by the women around me. I took a drawing class and wore knickers and cami top under a nice shirt. All the other participants were women and I found myself wondering the same thing. At the end of the class they voted to accept me as their token woman.

I think it's fun having a little secret that no one else knows, particularly when you're standing in front of a room and talking. I played an instrumental solo at church one day, grinning ear to ear that I was underdressed, and knowing that no one had a clue! That's the only time I've ever done anything like that when I was the center of attention. I've only underdressed at work twice ever, and when I do, I'm so nervous/excited all day that I can't focus on my work. That's what keeps me from not doing it. But I guess the more I do, the less distracting it gets, right? :)

Do men underdress? That I don't know, but I know I do. I don't go a day without underdressing because it has become normal to me. I'll be honest though, I have wondered if guys I see in the mall or a quick mart are underdressed and that is due to my curiosity but I'm not gonna ask lol. Then again I am a people watcher. Probably about 1% of my time was dealing with men's underwear. To me, this means that ladies underwear gets sold a lot more.
I'm not sure that's an accurate measurement. Men tend to wear their undies until they disintegrate. Women (and CDs I guess) are more picky about undies, they discard undies more frequently. Men use underwear for practical reasons and may have one or two reserved for intimate moments, that are going to the regular pile once they past the squeaky clean spotless threshold. Women can't do with one pair of "reserved for intimate moments" undies, they have to have enough so they can wear a different one every time. At least to cover the period of time a guy can remember, or the period of time they think a guy can remember. Actually, that time (talking about memories of what a woman wears in moments when one is under a high testosterone rush) is pretty much 15 seconds... unless he's a CD... And those undies are discarded at the first sign of wear or after breaking up with the guy who touched them. A man is not going to link a break up with a pair of undies. Also, panties come with thin elastics and fabrics while most male undies come with thick elastic bands and fabrics, so panties wear off faster. Panties are more likely to be worn under tight clothing which speeds up the process due to friction.
As you can see, panties have a very very short life span compared with male undies.
When everyone says underdress, does that include a bra or only panties?
I guess anything you can wear under your male attire without being noticed. I don't underdress bras, although I may have done that occasionally just for the fun of it. But I underdress pantyhose and teddies.

I never wonder whether or not a particular man might be wearing underneath. I am too focused on the feeling my underdressing does for me.
Unfortunately, the other day I almost got caught underdressing before going to work. I heard my wife leave the living room to come down the hall and into our bedroom. I was frantic as I stripped naked and kicked my things under the bed. (Panties, garter-belt, stockings, and slip) She and I are in a DADT relationship for my dressing and I haven't asked to go out underdressed. Good thing my heart is in better shape than ever!
I don't know why I took such a risk.

No. When I am out in public and in a crowd, I do not wonder if any of the men I see are wearing panties. I'm sure I have passed many that were, but I never knew, but I do not wonder. But I do have to admit, at times, when I look at a woman, I think to myself, hhmmm, I wonder what color her panties are?
Would she tell me if I asked her? Of course not. Would she slap me if I asked her?,,,,,,,,,,,,I don;t want to find out. Oh look, that 2 seater sports car looks so great, oh my I need to check the prices on those cars.

Wearing lingerie that is invisible to others rapidly becomes “normal”. However, items that could be spotted, such as a bra and nylons, is more of a challenge; but when there is no reaction from either men or women (women are more likely to notice than men are) that invites one to wear only women’s clothes. I have found these items acceptable in ”boy” mode:
!) Pants: Women’s pull on pants are much easier to put on than men’s belted pants. They do not need a fake fly, as the absence of it is usually not apparent, but I prefer non-figured and solid color, non-pastel pants so they are not readily identified as women’s clothing.
2) Panties: Underwear with a fly is unnecessary with pull on pants. Although there are no-fly briefs in the men’s department, women’s full-cut briefs work just as well, and are often cheaper.
3) Slips: Shirttails tend to readily pull out of pull on pants. This can expose panty and pantyhose tops and a bare back is usually uncomfortable when seated. A “solution” is to wear a full slip that is short enough to be worn with slacks. A slip with adjustable straps, lace trim, and a bodice can even be OK as it is covered and feminine features aren’t apparent. Also slips are usually made of material that makes it easier to pull on and straighten pants.
4) Bra: This is generally not considered an androgynous item, but it can be useful in “boy mode” to keep non-adjustable straps on a slip from falling off the shoulders
5) Pantyhose: An MD suggested that I wear pantyhose to avoid the indentation in my lower legs that mid-calf or knee-high socks make. Pantyhose do not require anything that is not also needed with pull on pants. Opaque ones are best, as they aren't readily identified as women's hosiery, but that isn't necessary and non-opaque pantyhose are OK and are more available.
6) Purse: Keeping a wallet, comb, notepad, phone, and keys in pants pockets is awkward as it is hard to extract them when seated, and pockets in women’s pull on pants are often not very deep anyway. My “solution” is to use a small shoulder purse, which can either be worn or secured in a basket when that is available.
All these are mass-market items in the women’s department. Even when suitable clothing is available in menswear, it is a specialty item and often expensive!

Several times, when underdressed and travelling on a bus or street-car, I thought that perhaps I'm the only one wearing a garter belt and nylons.

Connief,
What I meant is I'm the only one of the passengers on the bus with garters and nylons. Most women have either bare lags, or sometimes pantihose but unlikely to have the items I'm wearing.

I never really thought much about it. I underdress.. I bet there are quite a few that do but would not admit it.

I always go underdressed.....just as I 80% of the time go out in public dressed. I am too comfortable to wear male clothes except when going to my children's functions or dealing with patients....
i have never wondered or cared what another has on.
it has been said that for every (born male) that puts on a dress and goes out into the world, there is five that never leave the safety and comfort of the home.
and thirty more that underdress only.

I do it every day since I only wear panties and often either sheer/opaque knee highs or occasionally pantyhose under my pants (when cooler). Bras (rarely or forms, nope - those are for actual dress vs. under.

A short slip is easier to tuck into pull-on pants than is a cotton undershirt, but narrow non-adjustable straps often fall of my shoulders. Wearing a bra with adjustable straps makes this less likely. I have worn a bra in public under a light tee without any reaction. Perhaps the slip hides the bra, or maybe it is apparent but no-one cares!

Breanneb - I prefer thigh highs to pantyhose, because thigh highs are easier to put on, you don't have to pitch two legs if one gets a run, and thigh highs don't have to be lowered to go to the bathroom.

Just this morning had a few things to shop for so I kind of mixed it up. Bra,panties, pantyhose, but girl jeans and girl skechers and blouse with a coat over it. Not quite there yet but working on it!

I always wear panties and I often wear a camisole or some other pretty piece of lingerie under my "going around as a man" clothes. At times I do wonder if there are others like me but it is just a passing idle thought. Also when wearing a particularly pretty item I wonder if it looks better than the underwear worn by the women around me.
A friend of mine sat next to a man on a BART train coming from San Francisco whose shirt was sufficiently unbuttoned to reveal a pretty lingerie top. They began a conversation and even dated for a while.
Has anyone else come across something like that?

I underdress as often as I can. I have never appeared en femme outside of the house but I love to go shopping underdressed. Ny next big challenge will be to shop for and try on a dress. Winter is great. I can wear a bra, slip and pantyhose easily under a jacket or sweatshirt and feel the slippery nylon all day. Summer is more difficult and I am limited to panties. But sure, underdressing is great for us closet dressers.

I have worn panties to work. I do worry about people noticing them if they are more brightly colored. I have thought about what some of the women I work with would think if they know that I was wearing panties too. I have also thought that I have pretty panties just like you and they feel good too.

The only thing better than underdressing is dressing fully. It is what's next to your skin that makes for those lovely feminine feelings. IMHO.

I guess this counts as under dressing..... When I hunt and sat in a deer stand on a cold morning I wear my panty hose under the armor all that keeps me warm. I have also worn panty hose under my wet suit when scuba diving..... Lol I really don't wonder or care what the other guys are wearing under neath. I do sometimes also wear my panties and have worn hose under my pants. I like the feel of them. So in answer yes I sometimes under dress but not wonder who else does.

Can't say I've really looked at the guys much to try to figure if they're underdressing...
Myself, I UD all the time anymore. Since it's long pants weather, I always have panties, and pantyhose on under.
Then 90% of the time I have been using one of those cami shapers (camisole shaper) under the shirts and going on down.
I have the breast pads out however.
Great for the stomache (I keep thinking if I keep it on maybe my stomache size will work down a bit :) )
In addition, it keeps the PH top from rolling down with the shaper over the top.
Occasionally I thigh high it instead but I like the snug PH feeling more.
About all I wear is jeans anymore.. So doubt much shows line-wise.
Gonna be depressing getting back to shorts weather...panties only then I guess...

I mostly worried about if I'd get busted in the locker room at the gym. The panties I normally wear are single color microfiber so it's not taking a big risk. I don't think guys in a locker room spend a lot of time checking out each others underwear.
...But once my nephew asked me "Why are you wearing pink underwear?" I said it was red.I also wear microfibre seamless panties, single colour for the most part. I no longer worry much about others seeing them. I doubt they could positively identify them as female anyway. I wear them full time now, I couldn't put my hands on a pair of mens without a bit of digging, though I've got a few women’s that I defy anyone to positively identify as female. I do still get a kick out of knowing that I'm doing it, but it would be hard for me to return to buying mens stuff. The readily available ones are crap in comparison, and the nice ones tend to cost 3 times the price, and even they don't match the comfort of my favourites. (Jockey modern micro bikinis) I don't particularly wonder about other guys, though I've been known to keep an eye out in locker rooms to compare what others are wearing. I have noticed some exposed waistbands, and have gone as far as looking them up, which is how I know one of my co-workers spends about $20+ a pair on his (mens) lululemon boxers.

I get a buzz out of it so when you see men shopping with a smiles on their faces you know what they are wearing! I found it best to underdress in stockings if you have to try shoes on otherwise you may be asked to wear knee highs.
