Hi everyone,

I thought I would just share that I went solo (no ... not as in outside but by myself) today with my dressing. Up until now my wife has been helping me with my make-up and we decided Isha should try it herself. So . . . after what seemed like half the day but was really just a couple of hours (lots of mistakes) I am finished.

Can't say I ended up drop dead gorgeous but at least the dogs didn't run for the hills when they saw me. I don't know how many times I put the darn mascara brush in my eye and eyeliner, goodness that is an art form. My eye shadow went okay but I think I still look like someone gave me two good shots in the eye. My wife says it looked okay but then again I did notice a tiny smile at the corner of her lip (playful though it was) :battingeyelashes:

I finished everything off with pretty pink nail polish (my colour of choice for both fingers and toes) and my wig. Now sitting in a light blue sun dress, white sweater and black sandals (black lace panties underneath).

I must say, although I have dressed with the help of my wife before, doing it myself was exciting and sensual. I may look like a dude in a dress with bad make-up but I feel pretty and feminine.

Hugs

Isha

Sounds like you had a great time with a great wife.:)

Good for you! Make up is really fun. I also have the same problem with eye shadow. I have dark circles and bags (graveyard, with bad sleeping with pain), and dark eyeshadow makes my look like a domestic abuse case. I opt for lighter colors like gold or an earth tone. You should try to figure out your color palette to see what other options you have.
Oh and what kind of black sandals? Those are my favs.

Hi Isha,
Oh, yeah, makeup is an artform. You have to remember that GG's get to play with mommy's makeup early on, and experiment from prepubescence on. By the time they reach 12 to 13, they're pros. Us'uns try to catch up to that level instantly. We can't. We need a lot of practice. It does help to have a personal coach, aka, the wife. There are tons of makeup vids on youtube, but not all are worth watching.

Glad to hear that you're trying on your own. Before you know it, you'll be able to put on your face in under a half hour.

Hugs,

Leah

Good for you, Isha! I know most of us have been where you are where makeup is concerned -- the eyes especially can be tricky. Luckily, practicing is so much fun, and practice makes perfect ;)

My complexion is darker with black hair so I think I will most likely experiment with some earthy tones as you suggested. The sandals, black and strappy with a tiny accent of gold . . . very comfortable and they set my pretty pink toenails off beautifully. :daydreaming:

Yes girl, make up is a real eye opener, (pun intended), especially the eyes, I got a liquid liner and it's driving me crazy trying to master it. to light and it skips, to hard, and you look like Rocky Raccoon.
But if you have ever seen a little girl in mommies make-up you have one up on her, better motor skills, but she has more experience than you by the time she is half grown, you got a lot of time to make up. But what the heck, I would rather play with make up than watch TV.

Tina,

LOL . . . love the Rocky Raccoon . . . that is the exact same song that came to mind during my first not so successful attempt with eyeliner.

Hi Leah,

Not much of a face to put on . . . still can't get that pesky beard to cover up. Oh well, it was very fun and quite cathartic in a way and I plan to explore a bit more. Just have to figure out what my color pallet is :battingeyelashes:

I have Nixonian stubble, and to complicate it my sideburns (more like muttonchops) are somewhat characteristic of me and a form of disguise. I have seen posts elsewhere about what kind of foundation you need to cover the blue beard shadow of a freshly shaven face. An added obstacle for me is that I have several tattoos on my upper body that aren't exactly feminine... at all. Well not unless many women have Jason Vorheess covering their rib cage on one side. For me it is all a state of mind. Even partially dressing makes me feel like the woman I want to be.

Hear you about the tattoos, I use a small white sweater to cover the tops of the arms and back area when I am wearing a sundress. It covers the tattoos well, tones down the size of my arms and it feels wonderfully feminine. Wore it tonight on my back deck as it was getting a bit cool. Watched the stars with my wife and had some wine.

Hey Traci,

It was very nice. Not the best job but I think I might get the hang of it. Just need to find a good base to cover the blue beard after shaving.

Very nice. Oddly I am thinking of getting a tattoo as a nod/wink to my femme self. Part of me wants a pin up girl in a French Maid's outfit. Any guess who likes wearing that?
And I am a BIG fan of shrugs, sweaters, or zip up hoodies to limit the upper body size and cover the hairier parts of me that I don't want to shave. Seriously I'm like Samsquanch up in this place. My ex wife after being together some years commented how my body hair was spreading.

How delightful, Isha! Yes, it'll take a bit of work for you to get the makeup right, but it's so worth it! I can actually do a couple of things my fiancee can't, like use pencil eyeliner and an eyelash curler...I guess, since I wear contacts, I'm just used to working around my eyes!

I've tried the "smoky eye" look before and my fiancee told me it just didn't work. I stick to earth-tone assortments or pastels for my shadow these days.

Keep up the practice! :)

I run hot and cold with make-up. it was a lot of fun and very fascinating in my early years of dressing. Now I only use it when I "dress up" in one of my evening gowns or a nice party dress. I was never really good a applying it anyway, and the DW always helped. Eye make-up was the worst for me and I usually ended up gouging my eyeball numerous times.

Isha,
a bit more practice and the dude will disappear.

Isha, It's good to see you coming along with your dressing and presentation. Take some digital photos (for yourself) to see how you really look and how you can improve your skills. Also, there are a lot of tutorials on youtube.com.
