This Friday, the 6th, I have an appointment at a Transgender Clinic in Chicago, part of the Howard Brown Health Center! My appointment is at 3 p.m and it'll be the most exciting and nerve racking part of moving forward towards transitioning! The program is called THInC, and it's part of Howard Brown Health Center, and TRIAD, both located in Chicago, IL. I'll defiantly update about what happens on Friday, and the best thing about this place is that it's cartered to the trans community, so it's on a sliding scale, as well as very accommodating for a persons needs. There are free visits, then, I'll hopefully be on hormones! I hope all goes well. They even asked for my preferred name when I made the appointment. Ah, it'll be nice to be called Willow by someone other than my mum, gf and grandma :)

Good luck Willow! I'm aware of the Howard Brown center...I had considered going there when I made the decision to do HRT.
Enjoy the journey!

That first appointment is always a mix of excitement and wondering if it will go well. It's great that they have already asked you what you want them to call you!
When you go there, just relax and be yourself. I'm sure you won't have any problem letting them understand who you really are :hugs:
Will be thinking of you and can't wait to hear how well it all went.

Willow that is exciting news. I am looking forward to hearing more as your transition continues and I want to hear more about the clinic. I live in SC but to have places that will help us is exciting news. We have nothing like that here in SC. Too conservative to have that I guess and it being the bible belt and all.
