Do you remember the number of times when you were younger and told that "you can be anything that you want to be?"

Yes and at this point I have pretty much accomplished that Hon. Everything I do is by choice.:battingeyelashes::)

Hi Dee,

Yup . . . grew up in a house full of women and girls and my mother ensured we all knew we could be what we wanted in life regardless of how society sees it. My sisters all went on to careers of their choosing as did I.

Yes and twenty years in the Marine Corps re-inforced that concept and you know what? They were pretty much correct, (except marriage) in that I've accomplished pretty much any and everything I sat out to do and achieve. Whatever the mind of man can concieve? The mind of man can achieve!

Five thousand two hundred and eighty.
I have walked a mile in my shoes, foot by foot. :)

I am still very much a work in progress... just gotta remember to take small steps when my mind is racing faster than a silver bullet. Even Superman had to use discretion.

Yes, my parents told me that until they caught me in a bra and panties at age 9 and said, well, maybe not that. They caught me again at 13 and 15 and it was definitely not "that." If not for the internet I would have gone crazy.

Yes, but they weren’t talking about MtF crossdressing, were they?

No. I don't think my parents ever said this and I don't recall any of my teachers saying it either. More often the message was "you can't do that".

we don't know what people really mean. There was a thread recently about how people misinterpret what others say...maybe you read it?:heehee:
