Here is one we all can have fun with. What song describes you or how you feel about your femme, cd or tg self. If someone else chose yours, feel free to use it again. List the artist then the tiltle to make it easy for others who may want to look up the lyrics.

I have two:

Lady Gaga - Born this way
Macklemore - Same Love

The true question is how many will say Shania Twain- Man I feel like a woman"?

For me, I would say "Pretty Woman"-Roy Orbison

If I was being facetious I would say “This Wreckage” by Gary Numan, but instead I will go all obscure on ya and say “Big Sister's Clothes” by Elvis Costello... :o

Gotta be

Gotta be Real by Cheryl Lynn.

Gotta love the scene in sex and the city too when Carrie is walking the runway and falls over and is fashion roadkill.

She does what any real woman then does.Gets right up again and carries right on where she left off!

"The Stranger" by Billy Joel.

"We all have a face that we hide away forever, and take it out and show ourselves when everyone has gone. Some are satin, some are steel, some are silk, and some are leather, there the faces of the stranger and we love to try them on."

I had forgotten about that one. It describes things perfectly.

Hmmm .. well because I like it a lot, and because I danced to it in a "prom" dress on the night I really came out to my wife ..

Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Because I like it a lot, and because she's one of the all-time greats, and because it really speaks to me about the female life ..

Aretha Franklin - Say A Little Prayer

A "girl-pop" classic ( imho, I'm listening to it as I write ) which keeps haunting me ..

Natalie Imbruglia - Torn

And, to get serious about this, something I first listened to in 1971 (?) ..

Janis Joplin - Little Girl Blue

I'll stop now before this list gets too long ...

To some degree...
I'm Coming Out - Diana Ross
And Change Myself - Todd Rundgren

I should add, most songs don't have all lyrics that match. The strong part of Change Myself is the end.

Shania Twain "Man I feel like a woman" I actually developed a whole littel routine I did to that song. It drove my wife nuts when I did it in public a few times. (I wasn't dressed of course in public)

That's one of my favorites. :) My wife, who supposedly knew Billy Joel, had never heard it before. Now she loves it, too.

I'm going with Tigertailz for these:

Perish
Let your flesh instruct your mind (Wazbones, too, but that's more of an angst thing than a "feel like a girl" thing, but they're both angry songs, oddly)

Then, of course, there's Monty Python's Lumberjack Song.

Oh all right.

I would say that my female persona is best expressed by the songs Joan Of Arc, and Joan Of Arc (Maid of Orleans) by OMD, taken together, but I’m not Catholic, I‘m not a Messenger, I’m not war-like, and I’m definitely not FtM. However, the songs are pretty…

How about this one? Genesis - "The Cinema Show" (on Selling England By the Pound, from the Peter Gabriel years)

Take a little trip back with Father Tiresias,
Listen to the old one speak of all he has lived through,
For I have crossed between the poles
And for me there's no mystery,
Once a man, like the sea I raged,
Once a woman, like the earth I gave,
But there is in fact more earth than sea...

The proper title of Blondie's song is of course 'The Tide is High', the bit about not being the kind of girl who gives up... is of course the third line of the song

For me, it's certain words from songs as opposed to any particular title.
I like vocal trance etc., so be warned if you dare to listen :heehee::

Great choice. I think DarlaG and I have had those lyrics in our signatures at different times here.
Phil's version from "Second's Out" is a pretty good version as well.

At first I was going to go with The Bitch Is Back by Elton John.
But I think The Show by Lenka is a better choice.

"Walk on the wild "side by Lou Reed Hugs

All Tomorrow's Parties (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrRVaYF-O4U) - Velvet Underground & Nico

I love both of you sooo much for suggesting these two titles. I've always been a big Lou Reed fan. In the same vein, I love Nico's version of Heroes. Which to certain degree could apply to this thread's topic.

Now I'm humming to myself "..plucked her eyebrows on the way, shaved her legs and then he was she...she said "Hey babe, Take a walk on the Wild Side"
