There are a number of things that make women girly besides cloths and makeup. How much to you implement them into your life. Such as:

Do you read womens magazines such as Cosmo, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook?

Are you into interpersonal relationships, do you love to chat about fashion, celebrities, and most importantly, whats happening in your life?

Do you feel natural hanging with women, participating in the conversation, enjoying lunch out, girls nights?

Do you prefer chick flicks or action movies?

Are you a regular follower of soap operas, daytime or night time? Dallas, Young and Restless, Downton Abby?

Do you enjoy women's talk shows? (I was watching the premier of Bethany while I wrote this)

Are you a caregiver? Do you enjoy fawning over children, presenting a clean house, cooking meals?

Putting my responses first.......

Do you read womens magazines such as Cosmo, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook?
I love womens magazines, always have found them fascinating, the beauty and fashion tips, sexuality, and particularly the decorating.

Are you into interpersonal relationships, do you love to chat about fashion, celebrities, and most importantly, whats happening in your life?
My best friends through most of my life have been women. I love just chatting.

Do you feel natural hanging with women, participating in the conversation, enjoying lunch out, girls nights?
See above

Do you prefer chick flicks or action movies?
I like both, Im a very sensitive person, cry at moves, sad and happy, I am a sucker for romantic comedy, but also love a good Harrison Ford adventure.

Are you a regular follower of soap operas, daytime or night time? Dallas, Young and Restless, Downton Abby?
Never got into any of them. I've watched them with my wife, asked her questions about them, but never had a desire to follow them.

Do you enjoy women's talk shows? (I was watching the premier of Bethany while I wrote this)
Always, Rachel Ray, now Bethanny (loved her dress in premier, so envious)

Are you a caregiver? Do you enjoy fawning over children, presenting a clean house, cooking meals?
Have NEVER been a baby person (except for my own) but have always enjoyed kids, particularly once they are potty trained.

I feel like I'm the least girly person ever, which may sound strange... I'm a total gearhead, I work on cars and trucks.
I read magazines about all that too. I watch sports center and love action movies! I am definitely comfortable hanging with girls but before I met my SO I was kind of a man ***** lol (for lack of a better term) I guess you could say I got around. I just hit it off with girls and I'm naturally a smooth talker, lots of girls think I'm hitting on them when I'm not. I have a group of guy friends and we hang out at the local bar every Thursday for guys night but other than them, I don't tend to make friends with too many new guys, just girls lol.

Sometimes though my girlfriend laughs and says I'm more girly than her, I love being clean, I hate body hair, I put on lotion after I get out of the shower... You know, girl stuff :)

I don't really know how to put it but for me, it's the perfect mixture of being both!

Hi all,

When I am en femme as Isha, I enjoy girly clothes and lingerie. My wife just noted as we were hanging out the laundry, my panty collection is far more pretty than hers :battingeyelashes: But I am still a guy's guy at heart en femme or in male mode.

I do not read women's magazines as a matter of course I stick to the newspapers and keep current on what is going on in the world. Can do this sitting in a nightie or track pants. Talk shows . . . sorry, not meaning to insult those who do . . . I have no time for them unless they are looking at world issues.

My interpersonal relationships cross both genders. I was raised in a household full of women and learned to relate early. I am just at ease talking about events with women as I am with men. Of course common interests help. But for the most part either gender is comfortable for discourse.

Chick flicks . . . not on your life (my wife feels the same). We are both avid horror and action film junkies. We tried to watch Twilight (perhaps a cross over) Really . . . you are 100 year old vampire and you chose to go back to high school and fall in love with your food . . . give me 30 Days of Darkness, that is a vampire movie.

Soap operas . . . Nope. Unless you count "True Blood" which is sort of a Soap Opera.

Unfortunately my wife and I have not been blessed with children. I do however love my nieces and nephews to death and always spend as much quality time as I can with them.

Cooking and cleaning . . . we share cleaning (although I do like it more as Isha) but the kitchen is and always will be my domain (en femme or male mode).

Hugs

Isha

All of the above, except for television, unless it is news, current affairs or documentaries. I love browsing women's fashion sites particularly. Regularly buy ladies magazines such as Elle, Cosmo, etc. Much prefer female company.

I subscribe to both Vogue and Vanity Faire and enjoy talking about fashions, enjoy chick flicks for the most part - and action movies. I did follow Downton Abbey, which is well done but I am tired of bad things happening all the time, work more with women and probably talk more with them as I am a nurse. I don't watch talk shows. So according to this I am a girly person. Not a real surprise there - but I also like building and working on things. Which just demonstrates we all have a mix of mail and female characterestics...

There's really nothing that I notice that's girly about me except the clothes I like. Horror movies and sports dominate my TV. (unless I'm gaming of course.) I don't read magazines, just the newspaper now and then. I'm very shy around anyone, men and women alike. I hate soaps and talk shows, and children aren't my thing (but they love me for some reason). I don't enjoy cleaning, but then again, who does lol. I do like to cook though.

I don't see anything you've asked here as being "women specific" Hon. Maybe "typically women specific". But not every woman does those things as a rule of thumb. They will even tell you that if you give them time. What I'm saying basically is that "feminine things do not necessarily a woman make". that's all. :)

Do you read womens magazines such as Cosmo, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook?

Yes, In Style, Fitness, Woman's Day, Family Circle, various other fashion and fitness magazines, also other mags including ones about a sport that cannot be named on this forum.

Are you into interpersonal relationships, do you love to chat about fashion, celebrities, and most importantly, whats happening in your life?

Yes, although my peer group doesn't do fashion all that often and I still don't follow celebrities, but we spend a lot of time on what's happening in our lives.

Do you feel natural hanging with women, participating in the conversation, enjoying lunch out, girls nights?

Absolutely! Do it all the time.

Do you prefer chick flicks or action movies?

Definitely chick flicks (Loved Austinland!) but don't mind a good action flick now and then.

Are you a regular follower of soap operas, daytime or night time? Dallas, Young and Restless, Downton Abby?

Only Downton Abbey right now, other current faves are Covert Affairs, Royal Pains, and Burn Notice, past faves are Sex And The City and Desperate Housewives.

Do you enjoy women's talk shows? (I was watching the premier of Bethany while I wrote this)

No, most are on when I'm busy and most are really political shows cloaked as women's shows and I don't need that.

Are you a caregiver? Do you enjoy fawning over children, presenting a clean house, cooking meals?

Yes, all except for the clean house part!

But I also agree with some of what Kate S. wrote

Hugs,
Persephone.

I'm not normally girly until I'm in the company of girl friends. I'll join in on girl conversations with a few girl friends talking about girl things like relationships, and household things like food, decor, or fashion. (The gals know Cheryl.) I start to unconsciously emulate them too with my mannerisms and voice inflections. I also like browsing shopping sites. I get girly too after any errands by dressing typical casual / comfortable with a nice top and my stretchy waist jeans and slippers. I am retired and can do what I want!

I want my body to look girly, but I don't like to behave as either feminine or masculine (aside from what I wear). Rather I prefer to act natural. I think I take after Mom more than Dad, but she was somewhat of a tomboy, so what would that make me? Let's just express beauty in whatever ways we can.

I don't read any women's magazine's regularly but do enjoy Family Circle, Women's Day, occasionally Cosmo, or others with nice homemaking tips. I also enjoy Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Science, Wired, occasionally National Geographic, and others with scientific, electronic, or mechanical pleasures.

I certainly enjoy forming and talking about fashion, relationships, and life in general. Most of the guys I know don't get excited by these so most of my close friends have always been women. We can talk for hours.

I don't care for most talk shows or soap operas, although a few series such as Burn Notice and occasionally Royal Pains are nice to watch.

I watch more movies than I do regular tv. As most of the women I know prefer action and intrigue over melodrama and tears, I enjoy a good "chick flick" loaded with chases, shootouts, and explosions right along with them.

I don't exactly fawn over children, and haven't been blessed with my own, but I do enjoy spending time with them, playing, exploring, and keeping young.

No, I don't read "womens" magazines, although I used to read Cosmopolitan sometimes when I was younger.

I'm starting to enjoy talking about fashion, the fashion that I see in the street or on telly, I find the fashion pages in the newspaper I read just baffling though .. there's lots of stuff about what's "going up" or "going down" .. who cares? The classics are the classics for a reason! Some of the clothes in there look just bloody awful to me :( .. Celebrity gossip is of no interest to me ( unless The Rolling Stones are involved! ) I've always been a bit readier than most blokes to open up about what's happening in my life, I think.

I do like hanging out with women, always enjoyed the company and friendship of women. Can't say I've ever been on a specifically "Girls' Night Out or In", though.

Chick flicks or action movies? A modern movie that can simply be put into either category doesn't attract me .. I did quite enjoy The Devil Wears Prada though. The Bogart classics are "action movies" of a sort, but they almost all have strong female characters in there somewhere. I like the Astaire/ Rogers films, too :)

Soaps? I watch the British classic "Coronation Street" and have done ( on and off ) for the fifty-plus years it's been going, but I haven't time to get into any more of them .. don't watch very much telly these days, generally prefer the radio. I often listen to "Woman's Hour".

Women's talk shows? .. see above.

I've always cared about children's welfare and love my grandchildren to bits.. but MY GOD they can wear you out! :-D

I wouldnt say I am that girly. I am just the same but just a bit more expressive with my emotions and personality. I have no interest in girly mags or Loose Women. Totally hate chick flicks and girly films, except for Mean Girls and I never get broody around children, they should just turn 18 and leave lol Im into typical guy stuff like the football, women, games, programmes like Homeland and Walking Dead, do like my action films but prefer anything Chris Nolans done. Does that make me less girly, probably just a bit tomboyish. Being Tara doesnt affect my likes hobbies and interests, it just means checking the mirror out alot more and maybe shake my behind a bit more and properlycross my legs but thats it

Thanks everyone for your comments. Kate, while I agree, these things do not a girl make, they are more typically girl then boy. I found it interesting how some of us are very "manly" in out likes but enjoy cross dressing, and some of us like myself are split 50/50. I personally have always had a large number of female characteristics in my actions and life, but not at the expese of my male ones. I still work on cars, build things, do tech stuff, but have always enjoyed fashion, chic flicks (well, not How Stella Got Her Groove Back, that was too chicky) and have always been an excellent cook. Probably the most interesting thing is how many of us relish both sides of our personality. I don't hide my female characteristics when in male mode for instance, although I exert them more when pretty.

I happened to be reading "Glamour" magazine yesterday and a short article caught my attention. its basic theme was that women have to learn to say "no". I think I share with (many) women, the tendency to overly personalize things and to take criticism poorly. The article made the point that, when a male politician loses an election he thinks the electorate made a mistake, when a woman loses an election, she thinks she sucks at politics. That's me. Any time anyone points out a mistake, or a perceived mistake, I assume that I'm just incompetent. I need to work on that...

I found I hid a lot of more feminine attributes and overcompensated for a long time only involving myself in guy interests such as motorcycles, fast cars, etc. I strove to let this image define who I was rather than allow myself to project any image that might be considered feminine. Now I have a balance of interests that are masculine/ feminine. I like all movies and have been known to shed a tear here and there. I like car and fashion magazines. I guess you could say I'm well rounded :)

When we first discovered Tina I read women's magazines all the time, and found the topics and opinions startling. It was clear from them that Tina had a lot wto learn. Tina loves watching chic flicks with my wife while my male self can't be in the same room with them. Soap operas don't break through the barrier of any other interesting task, such as watching the grass grow. I've always been comfortable with women and that was true from childhood. I cook most of the meals in either gender and usually enjoy children.

Having said all this, maintaining both genders takes a lot of time so that's my primary outside activity!

I am pretty girly in guy mode but try not to be obvious about it. I use a lot of Olay products on a daily basis, body wash, regenerist, CC cream. I am always ridding myself of body hair and keeping my skin and nails well groomed. I do work on my eyebrows just enough to look natural but not obviously over shaped. I am always looking at woman's fashion web sites, circulars, and periodicals. Went it is not the summertime my toes are always painted, totally hairless, and smooth, lotioned, and shimmering. Certainly ready to slip into something sexy and feminine at any given moment when the opportunities present themselves.

i love the spring and fall fashion issues if InStyle, Vogue, Elle, etc. Not very interpersonal, though i do like seeing Katy Perry, Emma Watson, and a few other stars in the news, but I won't talk extensively about them when hanging out with girls, which i prefer, but do not do often unless it's also with my wife, for the obvious reasons. Dates with my wife, even just lunch or breakfast, are fun, Women are easier for me to be with.

We watch Downton Abbey, of course, it's a good show. Also- Game of Thrones, Silk (PBS), Midsommer murders and such. But i'm up for a bond movie (especially with lots of female characters), and a good sci-fi. Great and classic movies- modern and old.

I do not fawn over children. Nor students. I encourage the heck out of them, but they have to do their part or they do not pass. I do most of the cooking at home since i am home more- and all of the home repair and improvement. one of the things that endeared my wife (and her family) to me was that when we were dating, and my (to be) wife got sick and wanted to cancel out weekend- I picked her up and took care of her all weekend and the next week. We had been dating a number of months, it only seemed natural to do this- i would have felt like a letch if i simply avoided her when she was not at her best. This is more of a general quality than feminine, i feel, even though i readily agree it is more associate with femininity than masculinity.

Like most others here, I have a my 'male interests' cars, bikes, the unmentioned subject, but I admit i approach them in what some guys might say was an effeminate manner- souping up my car- i spend more time playing with the ecu programming than just bolting on bigger turbos, etc. Not as fast as the balls out hot rods, but certainly leaves the (stock) BMW crowd all pissy when they suffer from headlight-suck. :-)

Yes I read women's magazines, Good Housekeepping, Better Homes and Gardens, Redbook, Women's Health and Glamour. I love the helpful tips about housekeeping and cooking, but also the relationship articles. Women's magazines cover such a wide range of topics I look forward to recieveing them.

As far as chit chat, I love visiting with women about whatever is on their minds, I am pretty much a natural good listener.

I enjoy the company of women as much as the company of men. I am just a people person.

I like chick flicks as much as action movies and so does my wife.

I cannot stand soap operas or any other daytime TV including the women's talk shows. However I have been following the White Queen.

I am a caregiver. I take care of my ailing wife and do all of the cooking, cleaning, and laundry and am quite proud of the job I do.

I think I am a pretty good mix of male and female and enjoy both sides of me.

Hugs

The questions answered by the asker as a measure if girlyness are the CDing equivalent of "how big is yours?".

Like many others, I'm not particularly girly in male mode.

Do you read womens magazines such as Cosmo, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook? Only if I'm desperate for reading material.

Are you into interpersonal relationships, do you love to chat about fashion, celebrities, and most importantly, whats happening in your life? Mild interest in fashion; no interest at all in celebrities; some interest in talking about what's happening in my life.

Do you feel natural hanging with women, participating in the conversation, enjoying lunch out, girls nights? Yes, I feel natural around women because I grew up in a mostly-female household and live in one now (wife plus three daughters). I don't have "girl's nights", though.

Do you prefer chick flicks or action movies? Neither. I hate both genres.

Are you a regular follower of soap operas, daytime or night time? Dallas, Young and Restless, Downton Abby? Not at all, though I used to watch "Coronation Street" until it got too ridiculous and bizarre. :)

Do you enjoy women's talk shows? (I was watching the premier of Bethany while I wrote this) No, not at all.

Are you a caregiver? Do you enjoy fawning over children, presenting a clean house, cooking meals? Love kids, hate housework and cooking.

How Girly Are You?

Do you read womens magazines such as Cosmo, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook? No…

Are you into interpersonal relationships, do you love to chat about fashion, celebrities, and most importantly, whats happening in your life? No…

Do you feel natural hanging with women, participating in the conversation, enjoying lunch out, girls nights? I haven’t had that pleasure for a long time…

Do you prefer chick flicks or action movies? I like those movies that people either ignore or have never heard of…

Are you a regular follower of soap operas, daytime or night time? Dallas, Young and Restless, Downton Abby? No. I won’t let TV shape my emotions…

Do you enjoy women's talk shows? (I was watching the premier of Bethany while I wrote this) NO! I cringe when ANY talk show comes on…

Are you a caregiver? Do you enjoy fawning over children, presenting a clean house, cooking meals? I take care of my sister, so I guess I’m a caregiver, but it is my lot in life, not a girly anything…

I’m not much of a girl, am I (by your criteria)? I’m merely a boy who wears girl’s clothes now and then…:battingeyelashes:

I enjoy cooking and caring for people of all ages. I like talking and conversations with others. People often get tired of hearing me talking, so,, Yes, I'd say that on these two criteria I fit on the grid. I transitioned many years ago. I no longer hold a sense of self as male becoming female. I just "am". It is, however, a settled more mellow woman, one who doesn't use externals to make me feel feminine or more a woman. I think most women who've released the TS as part of their identity just see themselves naturally as women.

I'm a very girly looking GG (genetics not clothing) but going by this I'm the manliest person here! So are most of my GG friends.

Perhaps this should be changed to 'how PRE-TEEN girly are you', because many of us grown up gals will read a newspaper over a gossip mag, hire a cleaner because we'd rather pull toenails than clean something, watch an action movie without squealing AND leave the shower without applying moisturiser (shock horror) Some of us even like cars and chatting to the men folk :)

Sometimes I think no one here actually has a clue what being a real girl is like??

How Girly Are You?

There are a number of things that make women girly besides cloths and makeup. How much to you implement them into your life. Such as:

Do you read womens magazines such as Cosmo, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook?

Before my ex walked out, I always read her woman's magazines. I loved looking at the fashion layouts and advertisements, wondering if I could ever look that pretty

Are you into interpersonal relationships, do you love to chat about fashion, celebrities, and most importantly, whats happening in your life?

Sometimes. I listen a lot to the women at work talking about fashion and makeup. Celebrity news/gossip...naw. I don't have the time of day for that. I do tend to talk about what's going on with my life once in awhile

Do you feel natural hanging with women, participating in the conversation, enjoying lunch out, girls nights?

I've always had closer women friends than guy friends

Do you prefer chick flicks or action movies?
I don't watch movies much.

Are you a regular follower of soap operas, daytime or night time? Dallas, Young and Restless, Downton Abby?

Do you enjoy women's talk shows? (I was watching the premier of Bethany while I wrote this)

The above two questions can both be answered no. I dislike TV immensely.

Are you a caregiver? Do you enjoy fawning over children, presenting a clean house, cooking meals?

I love cooking. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. When my ex left my daughter stayed with me so I had to be the primary care giver for my daughter, but no complaints at all. I loved evry minute, still do even though she's almost 19.

I quote Kate with her wiser than thou look in her avatar.
"What I'm saying basically is that "feminine things do not necessarily a woman make". that's all."

I do agree, we all find our own level of femininity.
Look at the farm girl into animal husbandry, she wears trousers and a shirt because that is what is practical.
A super model looks quite different and follows quite a different course.
It may sound crass but they more than likely have great interpersonal relationships with men.

Do you read womens magazines such as Cosmo, Ladies Home Journal, Redbook?
Not usually. I'll have a flick through a a women's magazine at the doctor's waiting room.

Are you into interpersonal relationships, do you love to chat about fashion, celebrities, and most importantly, whats happening in your life?
I am interested in fashion, mostly watching what women about town are wearing, mild interest in celebrities. I enjoy sharing what is happening in our lives with friends.

Do you feel natural hanging with women, participating in the conversation, enjoying lunch out, girls nights?
Very much so. I have always felt more comfortable in the company of women. I haven't been on a gils night yet.

Do you prefer chick flicks or action movies?
Both, depending on my mood. Love other movie genres as well, kids animations and comedy.

Are you a regular follower of soap operas, daytime or night time? Dallas, Young and Restless, Downton Abby?
Don't go for the soap opera shows. I watch very little TV. I enjoy the humor of Top Gear, the funky style of Asher Keddy in Offspring.

Do you enjoy women's talk shows? (I was watching the premier of Bethany while I wrote this)
No.

Are you a caregiver? Do you enjoy fawning over children, presenting a clean house, cooking meals?
Can't say I fawn over kids, but I do enjoy kids, especially playing with my nieces. I enjoy cooking and cleaning.

Of course a lot of this is stereotypical. Not all women like those kind of things. Some even like atypical male interests. My sister loves Formula 1 racing and drives like a racing driver. She's still girly. It's all in fun though.

I do read women's magazines. I always did. My wife who is highly intelligent and some of her sisters who are Phds read the trashiest supermarket magazines really as a way winding down from their tough jobs. I read them too but think they're too trashy and when she asks me to buy some I buy slightly classier magazines which I prefer. I also read some boy stuff, aircraft and military history. But never sports or anything like that. Boring!!!!

I do love to chat about fashion and celebrity even if I think a lot of celebrity is really shallow. For me it's all about interpersonal relationships. Or it use to be. Now I'm a bit isolated.

I love being in the company of women and am completely comfortable. I really prefer if no men are around. I've little in common with most men. Men's conversation has little to interest me particularly if they start talking about sports or cars. Shoot me now!

I like both action movies and chick flicks unless Jennifer Anniston is in the movie. I'll watch most movies.

As for soaps, I don't get much of a chance to watch them anymore. But I do like programmes like Downton Abbey. I also absolutely loved Sex in the City and Desperate Housewives. I miss them. Why isn't there a replacement?

I happily watch women's talk shows and daytime shows aimed at housewives of which I'm one now.

I am a caregiver, it's not a natural thing for me though. I care for my boys almost full time now. I loved caring for them as babies and now I really do get broody when I see a new born. But I'm still on a learning curve and am disappointed that I'm not better at keeping house. I feel like a failure sometimes if the place is a mess when my wife comes home and a delicious dinner is not on the table. I have to say it's strange to think at this time of my life that my ambitions are so domestic. I wanted to be a fighter pilot or at least an airline pilot or a soldier or a racing driver, or I thought I did. When really this is what I wanted all along. To stay at home and look after the children. I've turned into my Mother.

Funny how you often get what you need but not what you think you want.

I'm a ture 50/50. I'm just as much man as I am a woman.

That pretty well says it for me too. I consider myself very lucky to know both sides of the coin and feel richer for it.

I have noticed I naturally use feminine body language in the way I sit, walk and general posture. It just feels right somehow.

don't think i'm very girly at all, all of my non crossdressing activities are strictly guy stuff, sports events, concerts, car shows, action and horror movies, etc

I am more gurly than my wife lol, I grew up with three sisters and no bro. I like being Genesis for so many reasons, one is being able to be gurly. Primping and feeling sexy is a natural high for me.
