View Full Version : Further to kara's lost my nerve post

I read and responded to Kara's post about having lost the nerve regards going out. My prized advice was essentially that it's probably down to confidence (having read about the creep following Kara last time out).

Well, if you can offer 'sage advice' you have to be prepared to follow it too. So this afternoon I've spent a few hours shaving legs and arms, plucking eyebrows etc. in prep for tonight at my group. I was looking to stay in and dress at home with my wife for company. However, she has offered to drive me to my night out and collect me, so I can sample few vodkas if I want....like I wouldn't anyway! :heehee:

So going to make an effort to mingle with the bar crowd tonight (muggles), as I attempt to push my confidence level and hopefully arrange a night out at a wine bar with one particular girl, if she turns up that is. We get on and she exudes confidence so hoping some of that rubs off. Now....what to wear?

Sounds like a plan Rebecca! The wine bar idea sounds like it could be really fun too.Very sophisticated n sex and the city- esque:heehee:

I haven't been out en femme yet, but socialising with folks sounds like most of the fun to me.

Not that i don't think it will go well for you but i heard on the radio the other day from a radio psychiatrist (for whatever their advice is worth anyway!) that luck is something you make and if you go out and project confidence and good vibes it'll come back to ya.And lots of the gals on here seem to prove it more often than not.

So slip ya heels on and go get em!I admire you girls. Now i just need to heed my own advice!

Measure your results according to your actions, not the reactions of others. You can't control the latter...people being a lot of biases and misconceptions with them. None of that need be your concern.

When someone has a bad experience it does put a damper on activities and this spreads to others.
Nice to have your wife look after you and give you that much needed boost.

That's awesome, Rebecca. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. And thanks for the advice btw.

Our group had a body products and makeup demo/sales night arranged, so had something to occupy the mind immediately I arrived. Pub was practically empty, so no real chance to mingle with the many as intended, but did end up discussing life and backgrounds with the GG landlady and her GG friend. Plus both didn't think I looked my age which was a nice boost for the ego,....but then there are no wrinkles on a well inflated balloon are there? :heehee:

Had a few glasses of my favourite Vodka and Orange, loosens the lips and the purse I find, and ended up buying a set of eyebrow templates, a very nice brown powder and brush, plus a silk gel eye liner. Cost more than I would normally pay but nice stuff and I needed a treat anyway.

Got to wear my favourite LBD tonight and favourite dark hair, as in my avatar pic, so I felt like a million dollars when fully prepped. Therefore, part one of my confidence boost on track but didn't get to see the sister I really wanted to see for the wine bar night. Still one step at a time. Also, thanks to all for your nice replies.
